Hope you don't mind me starting it :D

Francis (0-1) vs. Marquis (1-3)

Fredrich (4-5) vs Volquez (4-7)

TBA vs. Wells (0-1)

Two former Rockies pitchers and one we almost acquired in the offseason face us this series. We finally play someone record wise, is worse than us.

I will be at today's game. My tickets are in a section that's pretty suite! :D

Gotta say, Francis is pitching well. Also, I'll post pics of the suite seats later. Can't do it from my iPhone.

 That was the WORST throw I've ever seen. What was THAT?

6 innings pitches no runs 3 hits and Francis is pulled. After only 83 pitches......so stupid.

It's funny, I started out a Broncos fan and adopted every other Colorado team along the way. Now I root for everyone, but the Broncos. Congratulations Rockies and Rockie fans

Rockies 5 man rotation: 6.28 ERA
Rockies 4 man rotation: 8.56 ERA

So pretty much it is going as well as we all thought it would. Time to scrap it, Tracy and O'dowd.

I feel bad for Fox, having to broadcast this game.

Friedrich is pitching well, as is Volquez.

However, this is an awful game.

So today's game sucked, so I was looking up old articles and came across this gem from 2008:

Tyler Colvin vs. Dexter Fowler scouting report comparison!
http://www.baseball-intellect.com/Articles/scouting-colvin-fowler.html

They actually had Dexter as the better prospect despite the draft round difference (Colvin was a 1st rounder, Dexter a 14th). Who would have thought we would have both on our team?

God I can't stand this 4 man rotation. Tracy is such a freaking idiot. Last night is a prime example of how this came back to bite us. Friedrich was pitching well but we had to pull him because of the stupid pitch count, and the pen blew it.

Note to Tracy, there is a reason nobody does this in the MLB. IT DOESN'T WORK!

Dumbass......

Pomeranz was dealing so naturally he'd be taken out at 80 pitches.

What the hell Tracy????!!!!???!

Had a chance to pinch hit Cargo with a man on to tie the game on one swing and he goes to EY????

Tracy is an idiot....

so many mismanaged moments, this stupid 4 man rotation isnt working, why pull pom? why not pinch hit cargo right there? ...

Hahaha. We don't even get to see CarGo hit.

What a joke. Next time he's not in the lineup, not even gonna bother to watch. But, wanted to see Pomeranz deal. Should've been called back up a long time ago.

Tracy put on a full demonstration today as to why he shouldn't be managing in this league.

No not at all. Street and Hammel were successful here. Both just had a bad 2011. And it's hard to compare what a pitcher does here against elsewhere. Just nature of the beast called Coors Field and high altitude.

Also, the way a catcher calls a game can play a huge factor. Ianetta was a good offensive catcher but terrible defensively. Couldn't call a game to save his life. We are running into similar issues with Rosario. Our pitching went down hill after Torreabla left. That was a huge loss for this team.

I'm sorry but our pitching problem goes well beyond Apodaca. He is just a convenient scapegoat in the organization and around here.

I never said he was the only reason. He was a huge part of it though (starters have been much better since he left) O'Dowd is the main problem with our pitching.

I think they mentioned Street had the best save percentage in Rockies history, he was just dinged up all last year.

Anyone watch college baseball? I was hoping there was a Strasburg type pitcher we could get at #1.

Thats why I hated the trade of Street. Good closers are hard to come by. Betancourt is a setup man, not a closer. We could have a very nice back end with Brothers, Belisle, Betancourt and Street. But know dealing dan continued his offseason of awful trades (except the Colvin deal)

Broncoholic3233
07-01-2012, 08:34 PM
Street couldn't close here. Granted, he wasn't terrible, but his slider was too weak for Coors Field. It hung far too often, not his fault, but he wasn't going to be able to have a filthy slider like he can in San Diego.

Betancourt has been pretty damn good for the small amount of save attempts he's been givin'. Hard to get into a rhythm when he only gets to play like once a week it seems.

Meh. We suck.

I disagree. See '09. Street could definitely close here. I think it was just a matter of staying healthy. When healthy he was very good. But anytime he was less than 100% he did struggle at times.

Betancourt has been good, don't get me wrong. But he just doesn't have the stuff to be a closer for a long period of time. He is a setup man, and a very good one. He is just holding the spot until Brothers is ready. I would trade him at the deadline at this point.

Yea, I bet the soonest they will think about getting rid of it is when Nicasio AND Chacin get back from the DL.

Nicasio will be back near the end of the month, Chacin probably in August.
