Yes! Finally!

Although... I hope we don't have to rely on his cannon leg too much :D

Unless if he's trying for the record of course!

John Elway, the Denver Broncos executive vice president of football operations, announced Monday on Twitter that the club had signed franchised kicker Matt Prater to a four-year deal.

Financial terms were not disclosed, but reports out of Denver last month had the two sides being close on a contract that was expected to be worth around $3 million per season.

Prater had not yet signed his one-year franchise tender, which was worth $2.654 million in fully guaranteed base salary. He missed the team's entire offseason workout program as a result.

Since joining the Broncos in 2007, the 27-year-old Prater is 90-of-112 (80.1 percent) on field-goal attempts, including 12-of-16 (75 percent) on attempts from beyond 50 yards. In 2011, Prater was 19-of-25 on field-goal attempts, with seven makes coming in either the fourth quarter or overtime in four of the Broncos' eight wins.

With Prater signed to an extension, seven of the 21 players designated with the franchise tag this offseason have received multiyear extensions. They include quarterback Drew Brees, running backs Ray Rice and Matt Forte, wide receiver Dwayne Bowe, defensive end Cliff Avril, safety Dashon Goldson and kicker Josh Scobee.

Prater's extension, along with the four-year, $13.2 million contract signed by Tampa Bay Buccaneers franchised kicker Connor Barth, could spur negotiations between Scobee and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Great to have Prater signed and outta the way now. Clady needs to be the next one signed to an extension. This is a good deal locking up Prater for 4 years...just as long as Manning doesnt go calling him an idiot. lol.

Usually you lock up the most important positions first. I have a bad feeling Clady wants to test FA.

Clady would get franchise first.

They have been close for awhile, only a matter of time before it got done.

As for Clady, i hope a deal can get done, but they better not low-ball him. If they cant sign him before FA, they should franchise him at least imo.

I have no clue who this guy is, but he's an idiot. We didn't sign Prater long term because he was accurate all the time, most kickers rarely are. We signed Prater because he's clutch and doesn't lose us the game. There's a difference between a clutch kicker and a accurate kicker. Accurate kickers are mediocre kickers. Clutch kickers will make that last second FG 99% of the time.

Great kickers don't come often. If they did, every team would have one. David Akers, one of the best kickers of all time. Still going strong after 10+ years. Tell the 49ers that they made a mistake signing him. There's more to a kicker than just being accurate. How does a kicker respond when he misses a FG. If he keeps missing then he's not a very good one. If he's like Prater, he forgets it and wins us the game. There's been more times where I've been neverous that he's going to miss the game tying/winning FG because he's missed 1 or more FG's in that game. But he always comes out and makes it.

Also, Prater has improved every year that he's played. You want to give a kicker confidence. Because that's all a kicker has.
