absolutely sickening....
Hopefully the little guy is ok, and hopefully the person responsible gets the maximum penalty coming to him.

I just hope Adrian Peterson got to him before the police did. Then he can serve the maximum penalty.

Since it hasn't been confirmed, I added "Rumor" to the title. When someone posts a link to an article confirming it, I will remove it.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the child and family.

Heard this earlier and got heated. What in your mind could cause you to put your hands on a toddler or any kid for that matter. It's completely disgusting and this Patterson guy is less than human.

From what I read he is on life support with no hope and they are taking him off. Lil guy isn't gonna make it

May God be with him, his mother, AP and both families. I will never understand certain things, they seem so senseless. I will be praying for both families today. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected.

I just saw that. Thanks.

Patterson has a long history of violence. Hopefully, this will be the last.

This is one of the worst things I've read in some time.

Absolutely shocking to think about... and I know this sort of thing happens in the world... but wow.

Being reported the son has died, just awful.

Feel awful for AP, doesn't deserve that after what happened to his brother.

Hope that guy who killed him gets life in prison.

News that the child has passed....

This is such a tragedy. So sad on so many levels. There is no amount of prison time that they can call justice. They would have to lock me up for all the laws I would break on that scumbag. And he has a history of abuse against women and children...... Horrible. My heart goes out to AP and his family.

I hate crimes against kids. Should be instant death, no appeal, no re-trial, just guilty verdict and straight to the cooker.

The laws of this country prevent this man from being punished properly.

RIP little guy. Thoughts and prayers for Adrian & his family.

So sad and heart breaking. I've worked in the field of child abuse and sexual assault prevention for over 20 years and it breaks my heart that this keeps happening.

Prayers for Adrian and his family and swift justice for the perpetrator.

If that were my child, prison would be the safest place for the bastard that did it to him.

Having lost a family member at a young age (my five year old cousin, six years ago) I can say without question that it is the worst thing imaginable. There is no comfort, there is no solace, there is no justice. There is nothing but despair.

Poor Peterson. I hope he has a good support network. I wish nobody ever had to feel what he has to be feeling right now.

This is horrible, AP said that he will play this Sunday and my first thought was god I feel sorry for the panthers cause AP is going to run extremely angry. Poor AP, I hate to see bad things happen to good people

Absolutely uncanny how this world works sometimes. A baby who had an incredible future is dead, and some sick psychopath gets to spend the rest of his days in some cushy prison. Truly hope he gets what's coming to him.

He deserves the death penalty. Who beats little kids like that? Seriously? Especially since the kid died, that dumb murderer deserves to have his life taken away against his will. Too bad Minnesota doesn't agree with the death penalty.

AP's presser disturbs me for some reason.

I wouldn't even be able to function if something happened to my 4 month old daughter.

I think I know what you mean. He seems very detached and void of any emotions which seems at odds to the situation. As someone who has worked in the field of child abuse and sexual assault prevention for over 20 years and who has done hundreds of trainings on the impact of trauma and victimization, it's important to understand that people can react very differently to trauma and that there is no "right" way to act. People will do whatever they need to do to survive.

I've handled cases where women were unimaginably brutalized and laughed through the police investigation, while others reported it like they were reading their shopping list, and while others were a basket case.

I am praying for him and his family and hope that he allows himself to do whatever he needs to do to heal from this unspeakable act.

Absolutely right. There is no 'right' way for people to grieve or react to something like this. We are all different and will all react in our own way.

I don't usually get bothered by stories in the news because I'm pretty used to it, but wow. This story really makes me question the 8th amendment, I hope he doesn't get protective custody. Beating a child to death is the worst of the worst in my book.

If he doesn't get protective custody, he will likely get killed in prison by inmates. Those who harm children are viewed as the lowest on the scale in there, and hated the most.
