Greetings Bronco Fans.

I know some of us are still trying to get over last weeks stumble.
I've said before the Broncos have the most likely chance to be the team that can beat the Broncos. A safety, Int deep in our territory, fumble deep in our territory and a Hillman fumble going into the Colts endzone. Again why was he in there? We had a number of bad plays, We couldn't block at all, We could not open great running lanes. We could not play Broncos football until the final minutes of the 3rd quarter.

Now we have to regroup, we are going to have a killer schedule on the back half, so we need to finish our first half strong against the Redskins who have started to show signs of life the last few weeks.

So how do we do in Week 8 games? We are 4-6 in the last 10 years. ( Only slightly better than weeks 7 record of losing 10 out of 11.) Of the 4 wins 3 were on the road, one at home. Of the 6 losses, 3 were home and 3 were away.

Against the Skins the Broncos have played 11 times. We have a 6-5 Edge. Playing them at home we are 4-2.

I have some what a fondness fpr the skins. They made the trade to give us Champ Bailey for Clinton Portis. I think that worked out well for us. They have a great coach in Shannahan. He might have lost some luster in recent years, but he did some great things in Denver and I hope the fan base gives him the respectful greeting he deserves. My favorite memory of the Skins though is Rod Smith hauling in his first TD catch, a bomb from Elway in the closing seconds of the game. It was a thing of beauty. :goz:

That being said, I want the scoreboard to light up like a Christmas tree tomorrow. We need to kick butt and screw taking names. We need to get back on track, cuz we still have 5 division games to get ready for and a date with the Pats.

Win Lose or Draw it should be a tough game. As always please follow the COC, report any violations to the Mod Staff so they may respond. Let's hope we stay healthy and end the day with a "W" GO BRONCOS :logo:

It's going to be a fun time in our home tomorrow. My team VS Hubby's (I thought it was going to be Daughter VS Daughter, too but I must have seen the schedule wrong at the beginning of the season).

I hope it's a good game. Good reffing. No injuries.

I'll be nice to hubby. I'll just smile a lot.

Bye week for my Colts...as much as I hate bye-weeks, we needed it after getting bruised up last Sunday. This is when having a second team serves me well as a fan.

I think this is the week when Denver's defense decides to take a stand. Look for the Broncos to be focused, adjusted and walk away from WAS with swag.

High ankle sprains are typically quite serious and debilitating. Wonder if it's his plant foot with the high sprain?

Peyton Manning has 2 ankle sprains

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has two ankle sprains, league sources said.

[+] EnlargePeyton Manning
Matthew Emmons/USA TODAY SportsPeyton Manning suffered two ankle sprains against Jacksonville on Oct. 13, according to sources.

Manning suffered both injuries, including a high ankle sprain, during Denver's victory two weeks ago against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the sources said.

Manning suffered the first ankle sprain on the Broncos' first offensive play against the Jaguars, the sources said. The four-time MVP sustained the second sprain when he was hit low by Jacksonville's Jason Babin, according to sources.

The high ankle sprain was aggravated during last Sunday's loss to the Indianapolis Colts, when Manning was sacked for the second time by former teammate Robert Mathis.

Scans of the injuries were sent to foot and ankle specialist Dr. Robert Anderson, who confirmed the high ankle sprain but determined that the injury was not severe, according to sources.

Manning, who missed practice Wednesday but returned the following day, likely will rely on a painkiller in Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins. The Broncos have a bye next week.

The 37-year-old Manning is in his second season since returning from spinal fusion surgery. The four-time MVP enters play Sunday with 2,565 passing yards and 25 touchdowns -- both league highs.

I guess we will find out come game time. We had better give the line some help protecting him. He isn't exactly mobile as it is. Betting we have a lot of runs and short quick pass plays today. If we can get thru this game the bye will help but this is very worrisome to me. We can ill afford to lose PM for very long, the season could go down the tube quickly.Cmon line protect 18:salute:

Our D absolutely needs to shut the Redskins down. I am getting sick of hearing about how bad our defense is. Michael Irvin predicted RG3 will have over 300 yards passing and over 120 yards rushing. This needs to be a statement game for our D. I know they have been hearing what everyone has been saying about them, they need to step up and prove they can be dominant and can help this team to a SB.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if they lost one of their next two games. The Chiefs are a good football team, but they arent undefeated good. The Chiefs would get blown out if they played the Pats or Saints and will get blown out when they play the Broncos and Colts later this year. I honestly see the Chiefs ending the season with 5 losses. 2 to the Broncos, Colts, Chargers and either the Browns and Bills.

Tom Jackson just said right now the Chiefs are the best team in the league.

I live in Chiefs territory.. all of the band wagon fans are out in full force. It is laughable, it has been years since they have been any good so, they are really living it up.

I don't know how anyone can say they are the best in the league when they haven't beaten a good team as of yet. No, I don't think Dallas is all that good of a team. I think several teams are still better than the Chiefs. Their schedule is ridiculously easy.. they have all the markings of a team who will get bounced in the first round of the play-off's.

Before a Chiefs fan jumps on me... I don't think Denver is as good of a team as everyone thought they were. I forsee major trouble for us ahead.. however I do think we have the potential to be one of those teams that peaks at the right time unlike KC who is peaking right now.

It might be a good idea to start Manning, try to jump out and then rest him. Testing those old ankles could absolutely KILL Denver's championship hopes later in the year.

If what I'm hearing in regard to PFM's ankles is true, I would either sit him or limit him to a few QTR's. Jump out to an early lead and run on that Washington D ....hope to kill the clock and walk out with a W.

You have to TARGET the knees (or below). Simply hitting at or below the knees isn't a penalty. The play being said to have aggravated the ankle/ankles was a Mathis sack where he was held (the penalty was called on Den) and shoved down into Manning.

That, under current rules, is not a penalty. Do that to a QB and the Brady rule (http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/96731-inside-nfls-new-brady-rule) kicks in. There's some discretion for the refs in regard to this penalty as well, further miring the call in semantics.

From watching the games the most impressive teams I have seen in the AFC are the Colts (other then the Broncos). Not worried about anyone else

I think NE is good. Yes, they have looked pretty awful at times this season but, they can come back on anyone. You can't count them out of any game and a team like that is dangerous.

Hoping for a great game today, with no injuries on either side. Hoping for a blow-out today to gain our confidence back for going into the bye week. Hopefully we can shake some of these injuries with the break.

That being said, I have nothing but RESPECT for Mike Shanahan, he was one of the best coaches we have ever had. GO BRONCOS!

Well it certainly helps when the other team makes the mistakes the Dolphins have to let them back in the game.

Thanks. It is frustrating to see the special treatment for certain players. Almost seems like it should be either across the board penalty or never.

Just to add clarification as to what "targeting at or below the knees" is;

http://cdn0.sbnation.com/imported_assets/1758167/ibiHwjbqkuZ6wR.gif

That, under current rules, is not a penalty. Do that to a QB and the Brady rule (http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/96731-inside-nfls-new-brady-rule) kicks in. There's some discretion for the refs in regard to this penalty as well, further miring the call in semantics.
