Ok, so I couldn't resist joining the party....

These beer brat bites are wrapped in bacon and dusted with brown sugar.

3 packages of bratwurst (or 15 links)
1 package of bacon (16 oz.)
4 twelve ounce beers (or 2 tall cans)
2/3 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon dry mustard or turmeric
Any mustard of choice for dipping
Preheat oven to 425. Line your jelly roll with foil or parchment paper.
Piece each of your brats several times with a fork.
In a large skillet, place half of the bratwursts and pour in 24 ounces of beer. Once the beer is close to boiling, turn it down to low and let the brats simmer for 15-20 minutes, turning after ten minutes. The brats are done with they are no longer pink on the inside.
In the meantime, cut your bacon in thirds.
In a separate bowl mix the brown sugar, dry mustard, and cayenne pepper together.
Now that the brats are done, let them cool until you can handle them. Then cut the brats into thirds.
Wrap a piece of bacon around the brat, roll them in your sugar mixture and place them on your baking sheet with the bacon flap side down.
Bake them for about 20-25 minutes. Let them drain on paper towels before serving.
Add some mustard to your serving plate, and let them eat!

Love Wings!!!!!

Those bacon wrapped brats got my mouth watering! - Thanks for posting - I ll have to try that sometime!

LordofChaos - Ouch... Lou Holtz says "if you have to tell someone how good your are then your not that good to begin with" I agree with him. I assure you my legitimacy is well documented. I will look for yours.

Side note - I would like to come out and film some awesome tailgate food during a broncos tailgate - If anyone wants to be in the video and showcase their food drop me a PM.

HAHA! That "not legit" dude is one of the top BBQ pitmasters in the country. So, what? He used frozen meatballs to make a recipe easier. Just makes him smart too.

Yeah, cover those meatballs in TD BBQ sauce, and now were talking Bronco food!

I'd be happy if they served these in the club.

For any of you that have a pellet grill:

You need:

3-4 cans of beer - already like where this is going?
2 large onions - peeled and sliced into rings
butter ( 2 tablespoons for recipe + some to butter buns)
10 brats (uncooked)
buns for same

put the beer in a saucepan and add the onion and butter bring to a simmer on the stove

Pre-heat the pellet grill to 350.

get one of those disposable aluminum pas and put it on the grill. CAREFULLY transfer the beer/onion mix into it.
put the brats on the other half the grill, turn frequently
cook for about 20-25 min.
then put the brats in that beer bath and cover it with foil.
let then simmer in there for 45 min -hour

Butter buns, add brats and onions + whatever topping you like..... Freakin delicious.
