I hate it when any player gets injured even those that leave on less than favorable terms.

For such a high octane receiving TE he gets injured a lot. I think we went in the right direction considering our needs on offense but with him the best and a speedy recovery.

He's out for the 'preseason' they said. Dude is made of glass.

Not yet, it's coming, but not yet.

Made the comment he would be back in time for the season opener at which time he will turn an ankle.

But then he may not be 100% thus not ready to play until midseason with a broken Pinkie finger either.

Not sure he will be 100% even after he cast/splint is off. If not he could be out for the year now that he has his payday.

I think he will retire now. A sprained ankle cost him 2 years

I'm sure he will milk this injury for a while. Although he was a great red-zone threat for us,I'm glad hes gone.

I wish him a speedy recovery, which in his case might be 6-8 months.

Wasn't it a fracture of the middle finger of his left hand?

Bunch of haters :cheeky:

I don't like to see anyone injured, but will admit when I read he was injured I was glad it was with a different team now...

If you think about it, it's a blessing in disguise to spend some time without having to wear those atrocious uniforms.

Julius Thomas?

Never heard of her...

The guy is a product of a high octane offense and Peyton Manning. Period. He wasn't talented enough to make it as a basketball player. He isn't tough enough to make it as a football player. Glad he's gone. I said this a while back -- now that he's in Jacksonville, he will fall into obscurity.

Seriously, right? I'd check the doctor's signature a little more closely if I were the coach.

"My understanding is that if he does need it, it only pushes him back a couple of weeks in terms of his return time," Caldwell said, via The Florida Times-Union. "He was going to be 50-50 for the opener. We would hope if everything went well it should be four weeks from the surgery where he'd be back to full strength."

coach Caldwell

He's doing it again. I bet he's scared to play because he doesn't want to blemish his season with Denver. He needs to grow a pair really

What's another 2 weeks? ..... He'll find another way to tack on even more 'weeks'

He's usually so durable. SMH

I'd blame the Jacksonville training staff for not having his fingers in the proper shape.

Caldwell added. "He could probably play with it, but if we let it go and it's still loose, then we're at Week 4 or 5 in the season and he needs surgery. It would be us being aggressive. ... Our most realistic case is he has surgery and he's back for Indy."
Sounds like to me, according to the GM Caldwell that the decisions being made are a group decision not just Julius deciding not to play.

It's antics like this that make me so thankful he is outta here. Jacksonville should be steaming about now watching him enjoy this while cashing checks from the sidelines......again

Julius Thomas on finger: The good news is no bad news

Julius Thomas underwent surgery to repair a finger injury on Sept. 1. At the time, it was believed the new Jaguars tight end would be ready for action after a month.

We'll hit that month marker on Thursday, but Thomas has yet to be cleared for football activities. This perhaps can be seen as a cause for concern regarding Jacksonville's big free-agent acquisition, but Thomas isn't ringing any alarm bells.

Every game, all season

"The good news is, no bad news," Thomas said Wednesday, according to The Florida Times-Union. "But no dates (to return), no nothing. Just waiting to get cleared."

Thomas had his latest check-up on the finger earlier this week. There is virtually no chance we see him in Week 4 against the Colts, but the tight end believes a return isn't in the distant future. He has been taking part in limited individual workouts for two weeks.

"I'm hoping I get a text in the middle of the night (saying), 'You're cleared,' and the next day, I'm ready to go," he said. "I don't want to speculate to get everybody too excited, myself included. I want to wait and when I find out, you'll see me pulling that helmet down and running around."

Thomas has a positive outlook, but this is not the October subplot the Jaguars had envisioned when they gave the tight end a five-year, $46 million deal in March. The Jaguars are averaging just 16.3 points per game through Week 3, which ranks 29th in the NFL.

That's well and good but I am honestly surprised there is no mention when his body cast comes off.
