That is great news if it happens. This will be a pretty deep draft in a few areas, and there will be some good players still left in the 3rd. Thanks for the heads up.

Interesting.

Thats the first I've heard of "compensatory picks" It says we'll get a 3rd round pick, probably (from a cryptic, unnamed formula that prolly makes the QB rating formula look like 2+2=4)...but who's 3rd round pick, I wonder. The reason I ask, is because we are likely to have to give Atlanta our 5th round pick in compensation for Ellis Johnson. So if we have to give Atl ours, I'd figure the 3rd rounder we get would be "taken" from someone else? Hmm...

Thx for posting that link, interesting stuff. I hope we get that 3rd round pick!

Won't it be Arizona's 3rd round pick? We lost Berry to them, so it would only make sense.

Our fifth round pick for Ellis Johnson? Somehow I think the Falcons made out on that deal.

We need that pick to get more people. Must get 3rd round pick back.

Losing a fifth rounder for Johnson is better than a fourth.

We'll get a compensatory pick, they go at the end of the rounds.

Good, we now have a full slate again.

GREAT! Maybe we can get a solid OL with that pick or even another DT

at DT look for Mike Patterson DT USC who is overshadowed by the highly recruited Shaun Cody...Mike Patterson would be an ideal 3rd round pick

Mike Patterson is first round material, but he'll go no later than the second round. No way does he stay at the end of round three, he's of the best tackles coming out this year West.

I've talked to some of the top analysts for the NFL Draft such as Scott Wright and Rob Davis and in no way is Mike Patterson getting out of the second round. There are 60 picks or so in the second round and it's hard to believe a top five defensive tackle slips to round three, very hard. Especially with that many picks, I've never seen him go lower than Round #2. No worries though; he won't be there in round three.
