Okay heres the rules: THe whole nfl pool of players is in the draft (like madden) we are each a franchise picking a the first player.

Take your player........

Explain why?

firs come firs serve for wut spot in the draft, after 32 guys we go to round 2.......if 32 ppl wanna even do this.........:P

also: wut team an why? if u wanna do that

JoRo
02-15-2005, 06:06 PM
Okie dokie then, seeing how not one person has replied to this: Ill be number one pick in draft! (GO ME!)

1 pick:
Julius Peppers- he kicked major bum all year this year (nfc d player of year) and my belief is still that u need a strong line on both sides, that way ur skill positions on offense can stay safe mos the day, an ur lbs an dbs dont have to blitz too often, makin it harder to pass on the d. Plus Peppers can drop back an catch the ball too (he had some ints this year)

Other picks id look at for nex couple rounds: Dl, Ol, and a LB so if the Dl miss........ but ill talk bout that later dependin on if this thread doesnt become extinct.......

edit: My team wouldnt really matter to me yet, prolly panthers or possibly bucs, altho pretty much jus a team with the 4-3 or cover 2 in place.
number 2 pick is?

Ok, i'll play! :D

These are fun, i'll be the browns, and i'll select...Walter Jones to be my cornerstone.

*edit* Used to be peyton manning, now he's up for grabs

Ok, i'll play! :D
These are fun, i'll be the browns, and i'll select...as much as i hate him:
Peyton Manning
explain why (if ya dont mind, glad sum1 FINALLY did it other than me) an wut are ur future plans in the draft, if we get that far

PRBronco
02-15-2005, 07:00 PM
Oh ok, well, ideally i wouldn't be pickign this high, and wouldn't have started with a QB, but i couldn't justify passing on him for anyone else. Ideally, here's the order i would go:
LT, RB, DT, CB, MLB, DE, QB, C, CB, DT.... i could go on, but that's kind of the gist, I like to follow what i call the ravens super bowl format: Strong on both lines, powerful running game, serviceable quarterback, dominating defence.
Actually yeah, can i change my pick?

I'd like to change it to walter jones.

Let me know and i'll edit my first one

As the number 4 pick, I select Ed Reed. He is yet young, a ballhawk, athletic beyond belief, and I think even Ray Ray is starting to get jealous of him.

BlueDevilsDB
02-15-2005, 07:35 PM
Oops I guess I'm actually number 3........it's been a long day, and I smashed my head playing football.

ReleaseTheBeast7

4th pick:
Ray Lewis

A leader, a hitter, a playmaker. What else could you ask for in a single guy?

Runner ups:
Tom Brady, Terrell Owens, and LT.

dbdom
02-16-2005, 09:07 AM
5th pick

Jonathan Ogden LT
gotta go with the LT's you know, a good line makes the rest of the O better, thought about Orlando Pace, but Ogden is a beast of a run blocker, also thought about Peyton Manning QB (always gotta) but a great QB doesnt make for a great team

my draft order overall would usually be LT, D (best player on the board), QB, RB, WR usually, you always gotta have impact players on a D to spark it, a good QB goes a long way to making an offense, a RB to anchor the ground game, more important than the throwing attack, WR's are a secondary need, if you've got a solid WR core, thats more than enough, dont need a stud WR to spark an offense when you have a good ground game

i would say champ but since we r all broncs fans ill be a little more original and say um Derrick Brooks - what can you say about this guy hes one of the best tacklers in the leauge and hes what i would say is the best pass defending linebacker

BRONCOS_OWN_U16
02-17-2005, 12:37 AM
with the 7th overall pick of the draft.me (the denver broncos) select kelly herndon.
i mean champ bailey.
champs work ethic rules.and he is best at his position.

PatrickdaDookie
02-17-2005, 06:58 AM
8th pick - I choose Dwight Freeny. He alone made the Colts go from a horrible defense to a respectable one. He also forced soooo many false start penalties this year because of how quick he is.

The Dark Knight
02-17-2005, 07:13 AM
With the 9th pick The Dark Knight takes Peyton Manning.

How could you guys let him fall this far? A QB is gonna touch the ball far more than any other player and therefore is easily the most important position in the game.

He's the best QB in the league and worthy to build a team around.

Supreme_D###
02-17-2005, 08:24 AM
With the 10th Overall Selection. I select LaDainian Tomlinson. Even though he had a bad year this year. He is due for a rebound year next year. I consider him one of those backs who can just take control of a ball game with time control. Relatively young as well, he's got a good future ahead of him. Plus the guy can produce even with the crappy line San Diego had 2 years ago.

02-17-2005, 09:17 AM
11th pick goes to Micheal Vick. Hes young, hes fast. He would be my RB and my QB. I think he needs work on the pass, but hes a great player who scares most defenses.

buchosiete
02-17-2005, 09:26 AM
With the 12th pick Buchosiete takes Tom Brady. I guess you guys don't like winning!! hahaha

For the 13th pick i'll have to take big ben, just something special bout this kid

PsychoChicken
02-17-2005, 04:49 PM
Tackles seem to be going fast. At 14, I don't think I can go wrong with the best LT available, Orlando Pace. He is the cornerstone of a passing offense and definitely merits a first rounder. After I get a d-lineman, I'll be sure to start filling up the skill positions.

at 15 i take Charlie Wise and Romeo Cronell...their gameplan is un real and these 2 are better than having a superstar...so i go with the best coordinators EVER

Nice pick.............now who is 16? I am up for any opinions here, but do to the not so jumpingness to answer this one, should we go to round 2 after 16? (halfway to 32.....) or no............u guys' choice

bmcl2343
02-17-2005, 08:47 PM
If round one is still open give me Brian Urlacher. I've always liked him. Good hitter and a good work ethic.

bmcl2343

Should we be on a clock? Say each round must be completed in a day? Just to give it a little structure? Maybe that won't work? Just an idea...

Sounds good to me, round 2 starts tomorrow at 10 am, if u havent picked by then u lose ur pick an if 32 people pick, noone else gets in, when u pick for ur nex pick u mus put the name of the other pick(s) u have had. (that way we no who has who for sure. makes it easier to keep track an dont have to scroll around the whole thread......) also, if u had lost ur firs round pick but wish to pick in round 2 (given 32 people dont fill it by then) then u jus state as so:

Round 1: Lost pick
Round 2: so an so..................

PsychoChicken
02-17-2005, 09:15 PM
Wait, does that mean I pick again now or tomorrow after 10?

PRBronco
02-17-2005, 09:37 PM
If i'm not around, can you make my pick for me? Here's who i would want, in order of wantedness:
Tomlinson
Jamal Lewis
Shaun Rogers
Clinton Portis
Kris Jenkins
Marcus Stroud
John Henderson
Egerrin James

JoRo
02-17-2005, 10:18 PM
Okay, well the thing is, tomorrow ten eastern time ill pick (ill prolly pick earlier if its okay, jus gotta make sure im up...........) since im numebr 1 pick........ sumtime tomorrow u gotta pick, if the person in front of you doesnt pick when u pick, then that person that u pick is gone, i know this makes things rougher an all, but we cant wait all day on one person, it isnt fair to anyone else

JoRo
02-18-2005, 08:48 AM
#1. Julius Peppers!

My second pick in the draft would be: da da da da! Richard Seymour. Gives me a dt-de tweener who is pretty young, but very very good. He is also gettin quite a bit better at rushin passer, and could play dt or de in 4-3.

Next up: PrBronco!

JoRo
02-18-2005, 10:53 AM
Okay, second round is open for all, Pr hasnt picked

buchosiete

BlueDevilsDB
02-18-2005, 01:44 PM
First Round: Ed Reed

For my second round pick, I select QB Daunte Culpepper. He just came off a career season, and had I believe the 3rd highest season rating ever behind Young and Manning. He really became a team leader this year.

PRBronco
02-18-2005, 01:51 PM
Can I sneak my pick in here?
First round: Walter Jones
Second round: Shaun Rogers
Oh yeah, it all starts up front.

Supreme_D###
02-18-2005, 11:10 PM
1st Round: LaDainian Tomlinson
2nd Round: Jevon Kearse

Its too early to select another DT after the last few selections. So i will go with a solid pick of Jevon Kearse. He can provide the pass rush needed in this day in age of football. Since the new enforcement of the 5 yard rule. D Line is more important than secondary.

PatrickdaDookie
02-19-2005, 07:22 AM
1) Dwight Freeney
2) T.O. (he wasn't picked yet, right?)

1st Round: LaDainian Tomlinson
2nd Round: Jevon Kearse
3rd Round: Dan Morgan

I need a solid linebacker to build around and Morgan is one of the most underrated MLBs out there. The perfect guy to greet a RB coming past the Defensive Line. Hes good in pass coverage as well.
