1- Rod- Rod is as consistent as Warren Sapp eats. Rod will always be our #1 receiver as long as he's in a Bronco uni. He is quietly putting together a Hall Of Fame career. He is the most underrated receiver of all time and I stand by this statement. He is the heart and soul of this team.

2- Ashley- Our burner. He came on last year a lil but needs to learn to run more routes than "Keep running and I'll throw it". If Ashley can do this and stop dropping balls plus getting the balls to go over the middle, he COULD be a Pro Bowler

3- Watts- Every Tc or Mini Camp report I have read is saying this kid is great. I didn't see it last year and the season it when you show it. If Watts can be more dependable, he and Ashley can take over Rod's position quite nicely once he leaves. But noone is gunna replace his leadership.

4- Luke- I like this kid, personally. He has great speed and I see him to have the potential of being an excellent slot receiver down the road.

5- Rice- I do not what so ever like the move of signing this guy but who else am I gunna put here? Rice has great hands but he dependableness is going down as his years are going up.

Possible breakouts- Romar Crenshaw

My feelings exactly, although I must caution everyone to remember that we have a long training camp and an even longer season ahead of us.

Well, I have a feeling we will keep 6, but since the thread asks for 5:

Rod Smith
Ashley Lelie
Darius Watts
Jerry Rice
Triandos Luke
-------------------
Nate Jackson

I have a feeling that if Darius is inconsistent, Jerry will be the #3 guy.

I too feel that we'll probably have 6 receivers goin into the season...but again since it states 5...

Rod Smith

Ashley Lelie

Darius Watts

Jerry Rice (as long as he continues "improving" in practice and TC like certain articles have said is happening...if not he could drop to 5th, 6th or even out)

Charlie Adams (This kid so far is apperently lookin pretty good in TC)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Triandos Luke (up there with Charlie Adams, could switch with him at any time)
Tod Devoe (From what I've heard, he looks very hungry and may make the squad or maybe just the PS)

How I wish i lived in denver, and could make my own opinion on my own observations...oh well...thanx for all the info around here.

To stick as our 4,5 or6 WR you have to be able to contribute on Special Teams. I can't see Rice doing that. I think he has to beat Watts for 3 or we should cut him. Are we really going to let our 5th or 6th WR avoid special teams? We don't have that luxury.

1. Rod Smith
2. Ashley Lelie
3. Darius Watts
4. Jerry Rice
5. Charlie Adams
5A. Triandos Luke (special teams gets him a roster spot cause Adams looks better right now) I still think he has the potential to move up this list soon. I really hope he sticks around.

1. Rod Smith- A great veteran and the best wideout we have.
2. Ashley Lelie- Had some great catches last year to score TD's. One of the best "Average" Wide recievers.
3. Darius Watts- Needs to work on his catching, but I see him having a bright future.
4. Jerry Rice- Despite his age, he still has 2 years left in him, yes I said 2, even though he said this was his last year. He still has some great hands.
5. B.J. Johnson- If he wasn't injured last season, he would have been on the team as a #4 Wide Reciever.

For the past few years, pre-season discussions have been who would make the team. I only think it matters who will play and contribute. This is how I'd rank the contributions I expect this year.

1. Rod Smith
2. Ashley Lelie
3. Jerry Rice
4. Charlie Adams
5. Todd Devoe (super on special teams, can play WR if needed there)

Ideally, any starting WR should be #1 quality

A bunch of responses, but none with this combination:

1) Hot Rod
2) Lelie
3) D Watts
4) C Adams
5) T Luke

Rice will retire before the season starts.
