Finally, we get to hear about a player who plays hurt and does not complain. My hat is tipped to Champ Bailey for stepping up and playing with a busted up shoulder!!

Let's hope his attitude and love for the game is catchy. I just hate when you hear about a guy with a jammed finger who "can't" play.

Of course he is, but its not certain if hes gonna play or not, I guess shanny decides that one but it would be nice to see him play and make some good plays! The guy is definately old school!

BTW welcome to the boards Shegan!

Champ Bailey would be old school if he popped his dislocated shoulder back in and went back in after only missing one play. He missed an entire half. Wuss.

Old School or Ironman. How many football players, much less football players that make about 80 takles a season, can say they have started in 101 consecutive games?

This guy is a freaking stud. The D better rise up around him because even tho he is as good as he is, he will need some support this week.

Its a shame he got hurt, you could tell he was gonna step it up even more this year, the guy has been talking super bowl, i was expecting him to have his best year this year. :coffee:

The tone of your post seems like it would be more appropriate were Champ listed as Doubtful or Out for Sunday.

If Champ is old school, so was Shawn Barber who played with a set of messed up hands. In other words, no.

The only player in the league that I'd consider to resemble an Iron-man player anymore is Farve.

Not old school, just tough
but plenty of players gut the pain out, when its regular season, you find out the ones who are softies and cant take the grind but most players are tough tough guys and will gut it out although champs injury is fairly seriously and his recovery is pretty impressive

My tone is on the money, he said himself he will be hurting with that shoulder the rest of the season and he will have to play through it, thats not exactly an ideal situation, but ill take a banged up champ over no champ any day. :coffee:

when you bring out that many targets you goet down in the pecking order of the secondary which is SDs weakness

Emancipator
09-18-2005, 06:15 AM
Denver need the come out with a fierce game play on both offense and defense. The key to today's game is to run the ball effectively against S.D. Denver needs to rush for over 110 yards today. The receivers must make catches. We have to have a successful percentage made on 3rd downs.

Denver must stop A. Gates and contain L. Tomlinson. If SanDiego can get the ball consistently to their WR's for 5 and 6 yards, Denver will be in trouble. Denver must pressure and rattle Brees.

Let's go Broncos. Coyer we need you to step up your defensive gameplan. Shannahan let's get better calls into Plummer in the redzone.

Have a great game.

OrangeShadow
09-18-2005, 06:24 AM
I think we need to establish the run first obviously then bring out 3 wrs and 2 tight ends or 4 wrs and a tight end and get down in the depth chart of SD's secondary

3wrs and 3tes would mix em all up i hope we use someting like that, some trick plays would be cool aswell. you know some wr reverses or flea flickers.or even the constant lateral play from the longest yard

have i gone to far  :goofy:

Freestyle
09-18-2005, 06:58 AM
Flea flickers take too long to develop against the fast defenses of the NFL, but you are right, we need to be aggressive and avoid going into a shell. San Diego has shown to be susceptible to big plays. Lets exploit it.

09-18-2005, 08:58 AM
I agree with your game plan emancipator, however I am concerned!! Just looking at the NFL matchup screen their defense has been much better against the run than ours. I expected more run stopping with the way we have loaded up the middle making those plays go to the outside and our speed to catch up for little or no games.
got to see how they address this.

BTW, love that F-16, that is what I made my avatar out of. not in the military, just in aviation, we need those receivers to STRIKE!

Hmm.

3 receivers + 3 tight ends = 6 players

5 offensive linemen + the above 6 players = 11 players

So, are we going without at a QB or do you consider 12 men on the field to be the basis of the trick plays? ;)

I know it's just a fumble, and it's early in the 1st qtr. But that damn fumble is Denver's team in a nutshell the last 3 years. They looked great the whole drive, then they are looking at 1st and goal from the 1 and they turn the ball over. Or they start a season 3-0 and then mental mistake after mental mistake and they flop down the stretch.

They just cannot seem to focus in big games and stop from shooting themselves in the foot. There is no excuse in the NFL for these mistakes, and until they find a way to correct them they will never be any better than mediocre. The only team that consistantly beats Denver is Denver. Sit MA the rest of the half and let him think about it.

our defensive line got pressure last 2 times. coyer decided NOT to send 5 blitzers right into the middle of the line, resulting in 5 of our guys just standing there while noone gets anywhere near the qb. perhaps he's learned that it doesn't work..... or he's saving it as his secret weapon

Gee, wonder where you got that...

Do you always have to draft d-linemen if you want to fix your line? Or can you pick up some FA's? Most of you fully expect every line position to be filled with 1st and 2nd round depth...It's insane.

I'm not posting those comments just to be the black cloud looming over the broncos, but c'mon it's the truth. Now look at the rut the offense is in. They HAVE to capitalize on those opportunities. Maybe our D will make a play and get a turnover to get us back on the right track.

It's common sense, if we need a pass rush, we need to start drafting players out of college. Not saying it's going to instantaneously improve it, but it's a start. Heck, signing good free agents worth a damn might help too, but we don't do that either.

It's insane for you to be ignorant and think otherwise.

I made an observation on what I'm hearing, it all starts up front on the trenches. If things aren't happening, it's because the defensive line isn't getting things done. It's common sense, it's an observation. If you don't like my observations, ignore them.

What you're hearing?? Are you watching the game (I'm not). Sometimes the O-line pushes the D around...Now, if LT gets like 200 yards, then it's a whole different story. BTW, are you a qualified NFL scout, cuz if you are then I'll shut up...?

I agree that we need to improve the pass rush, but it's not like it's a huge detriment to the team...

How about no more posting on this subject (and yes, I started it)...This is the Gameday thread anyways...
