We're in trouble guys, our D can't keep up with their speed on offense and our offense can't hang onto the ball, they're getting open, but can't come down with the pass.... It'll be interesting to see the halftime adjustments..

You can take as many steps as you want, and if you're bobbling the ball it's a *fumble*. Wies wasn't argueing. Even he knew it wasn't a catch.

How many calls get reviewed, not overtunred, but are wrong?

How many calls get reviewed, then overturned, and are wrong?

Take a TO, and think about that for a second.

p.s. I also love how the announcers keep going back to that "bad" overturned call, saying how different this game could be right now? Oh yeah, they don't.

i meant the ball didn't cross the goal line...Hawk pulled the ball away before it got their..and if that was so obvious because the ref took 5 secs to look at it..then why wasn't the fumble obvious..the ref took just as much time to look at that

Are you crazy, the ref took about a 1 minute on the fumble that he messed up.

Hawke was at his knees, someone else pulled the ball back then Walker reached forward as he went down and like half the ball was across, easy call.

Smith, played a bad defense. ND defense ranked 97th overall defens

Quinn played a good defense. OS defense ranked top 10 overall defense

Who should have a better game?

The better team, obviously. And that was the case. Other then 3 drives, the ND offense was completely owned.

Smith shoulda had a better game playing a bad defense.

Besides 3 plays OS had no offense at all. They won on big plays and 2 of the plays were blown coverage.

When Ginn is 15 yards behind all the CBs it doesnt take a great QB to throw a TD then

WHen #4 is 10 yards behind them it doesnt take a great QB.

OSU is all about big plays in this game, and it won it for them.

So that means he had more than 1 good year :duh:

Yeah, and when they let a Stanford team, who got completely owned by a Division 1-AA team, run up and down the field on their defense, they showed they had no buisness being in this game.

Yet another let down the the BCS.

How can you throw for 8,000 yards in one season?????

How can you throw 64 TD's in 1 season???

If your saying he only played this year and last year.

that would be 32 TD's both years and 4,00 yards which isnt true.

So he played at least 3 years. :duh:

Good game fellas. ND hung around and made it a good one. I was realy impressed w/ their first drive. Nobody's (save for Texas) realy moved the ball like that on us all year. Once they started abandoning the run, I knew they were toast. As far as single coverage on TG7 goes, Charles watch some film next time man.

Yeah, the Buckeyes showed some explosive offense, they have some great skilled position players in Holmes, Ginn, and Pittman... Smith is hell of an athlete too... It was funny how we abandoned the run so early, we ran delays and draws mostly on that first drive and it worked, then they decided to drop back and get dominated up front...did you see the look on Quinn's sis when AJ hit him twice? LOL, thats gotta be a tough spot for her...

Good game though, Big 10 is making a statements in the bowl games, nice wins by Wisconsin and Ohio State, could Penn State add to that?

Kiddo, I'll leave it at this. This is Quinn's 3rd year of college football. Not first, not second. And as far as his precious ND records go, it's not that hard to achieve passing records when your in a pass oriented offense, that has been an option school throughout it's entirity, up untill a couple years ago.

And as far as your comment about 3 plays winning the game for OSU, you couldn't be more off base. OSU had 1 punt the entire game. Not two, not three, but one. You don't go through an entire football game with only 3 good plays, and only punt once.

Think about it.

They also had 2 turnovers which take the place of punts, they drove but never scored when the drove, they scored on big plays and big plays only.

As for this, Quinn has been and will be better than Smith.

so they went through the game, only punting once, only had 3 big plays, and only 2 turnovers? Then they clearly won the game with their defense. I guess ND's almighty offense wasn't as good as everyone thought.

As for this, Quinn has been and will be better than Smith.

Has been and will be?

1) he has started more games then Smith.

2)he is in an offense that is more well suited for a QB then Smith.

3)With more starts comes experience. Smith, having less starts, will only get better.

Quinn will be a better QB when it's all said and done, but he has gone through 2.5 years of starting in college football, and has yet to beat a good team. Quinn could be a good QB, but he's clearly not a winner yet.

The verdict is out.

See Daunte Culpepper, please.

See Donavon McNabb, please.

I don't have to say Smith can throw. It should be obvious after the game tonight, hitting the deep ball.

And if he can't lead a college team like ND to victory over a good team, he surely isn't a given to do it in the NFL.

Prevent defense killed them at the end of that game and Zwick...Tressel wouldnt open up the playbook in the penn state game or we'd be undefeated after holding psu to 17 points. ND is way overrated since they hung with usc.

ND hung with Ohio State as well..the game wasn't over til there were 2 minutes left.
Twice ND had chances to get the ball back for a potential game-tying drive.

yeah ND was anything but overrated...Ohio State is playing their best football of the year and if they had to, they'd give USC or Texas a hell of a game... IMO ND's D was suspect all year, and it showed against a quality offense...that speed just overwhelmed them and they couldn't stop Ohio State...

The way Weiss and the ND offense picked apart the OState D impressed me the most, just a lot of drop passes killed ND and they were in it til the last minutes...

I'm predicting a ND national championship game next year!

The same team that lost to Penn State.... In the Big House...

They didn't win the games against USC or Ohio State, but you have to admit that they hung around and proved they can compete against these teams... Keep in mind, this was the exact same team that went 6-6 last year getting killed by USC by over 30 points... and getting trounced by every other team... to go 9-3 this year with loses to SC and Ohio State (shouldn't of lost to M.State) but I would call it a successful season..

Just wait when Weiss gets his boys in..

So Michigan? Thats the win Domers should be proud of? Beating a team that lost to Minnesota and Nebraska? ......Ok.

The fact is Notre Dame didnt beat any quality teams and have somehow spun that by losing to USC and OSU they should be taken seriously.

Just watch how they play, its a HUGE difference, do you think a team like Colorado can hang with USC or Ohio State? They'd be lucky to even get 3 points out of it... The funny thing is that if ND would of beat SC or Ohio State, we wouldn't even be having this discussion.... But the point is, that this same crappy 6-6 team (watch them last year, they were HORRIBLE) that didn't have any chance of competeting with SC, DID under Weiss...

The question is can they hang with those championship teams? And the answer is NO. Let me throw another name in there, can Florida hang with SC or Ohio State? Absolutely NOT.

I think you're setting your standards too high for a "Quality" team..is SC a "Quality" team? What good teams have they beat? UCLA? (same team that got killed by Arizona) Notre Dame? (Apparently Not). Fresno State? (Lost to Nevada, Done.) Oregon? (lost to an unraked Sooner (Big XII) team). Arizona State? (lost to Stanford)... So what is your standards?

Well FSU hung with Penn State last night and we blew FSU out. We also play in the best coference in football every week....We went into Death Valley and ALMOST beat LSU....maybe I should wet myself over that? The Gators still have some work to do but theyre getting better.

I think not losing at home to a team like say.....I dont know....Michigan State..... might make your quality go up. Being "happy" to lose to USC and OSU? Not that impressive.

And before Domer fans break their arms patting themselves on the back for "hanging" with OSU keep in mind that the Buckeyes put up 600+ yards on your defense and OSU missed 2 FGs and fumbled in the red zone. That game wasnt as close as the score might have indicated.
