I wonder if Brady could cry about it a little bit more? :D

Not sure what media he is referring to, but the media I listen to talk about he Patriots all the time. Brady needs to set his self anointed God's gift to football ego aside and really step back and take a look at what team is not getting any love. I think he would then see that the Patriots are not that team.

Or it could have something to do with this!!

Jaguars (12-4) at Patriots (10-6)
The two-time defending Super Bowl champions are playing at home because they are charter members of an awful division.

As usual, their hero is Internet pornography fiend and GQ magazine coverboy Tom Brady.

Returning from injury to quarterback the Jags is Byron Leftwich, who judging from his health history does not have all five levels of Visa security.

The Patriots finally are in fine health, too, and now smell like threats to advance.

NFL sharpies are sort of down on the Jags because of their schedule and the lack of really cool places to eat during last year's Super Bowl week.

Prediction: Patriots, 21-10.

"I think we've been probably disrespected more than any team in the league this year," Brady said.

"...and I think if there's one team that feels like they're disrespected it's us."

Oh... I understand now. It's just that it "feels" like they've been disrespected. Delusional AND spoiled. Got it.

All I have heard for the past 5 weeks is how dangerous New England would be in the playoffs. Blah blah blah. Jacksonville have a complaint fair enough, they are not talked about so much. The Pats should be thankful they are talked about at all. If the Dolphins had been a little more consistent, theres a good chance they would be in the playoffs instead. I really hope now that the jags win. See how Tommy boy takes it then.

I just scrolled through the week 17 pics on foxsports.com, thinking there has to got to a shot of Lynch putting that hit on Brees, or Rivers ripping Coxs' helmet off, or even BVP getting tackled.
Nothing.
Nada.
Dominate in a game against the "best team not to make the playoffs" (who got more respect from the media than Dever EVER gets!) and no pics. They had Seattle and GB, StL and Cowboys, even TN and Jax! But no Bronco photos!

whew! Okay...I feel better now!

The Patriots are one of the most overrated teams this year.

Their pass defense is just pathetic and they barely won the weakest AFC division, yet people are talking about them like they are the superbowl favorites.

Now, to be fair, they've been a pretty good team over the last couple of years, so their getting credit this year for what they've done in the past, but in my opinion, they are getting too much credit for what they were last year.

The other power rankings have them ranked fourth or fifth. Often, they are ranked higher than the Bears and if not that, they are ranked above other more diserving teams.

Anyway, the football outsiders ranking is the best in my opinion, because it is completely objective and only considers what a team has actually done over the course of the season. Still, the Patriots may be improved with some injured players returning, but I just don't see them as what they have been. And I picked Jacksonville to beat them in the first round.

If you ask me, Brady's a *****. The Pats may not get as much respect as the Colts, but the Colts beat them and have been the better team throughout the regular season. But next to them the Pats are getting the second most respect. And if anyone should be crying about respect, it's the Broncos.

Everyone is talking about how hot the Pats are. 6-2 their last 8. Well the #2 seed that isn't getting mentioned at all, and we're 8-1 in our last 9. I hope the Steelers and Pats win so Denver will play the Pats next Saturday. Then we'll see who gets disrespected. A #2 vs a #4 @ the #2 which has already beaten the #4 earlier this season and is undefeated at home. I guarantee everyone picks the Pats over us.

Anyway, shut up Brady you ****in pansy!

The Jags will beat the Patriots, end of Brady for the season. They've played inconsistent ALL season and then played terrible teams at the end of the season, Jets twice, Dolphins, and Bills... they DESERVE no respect.

Remember when Brady walked off the field at Denver without so much as a handshake? He's shown zero maturity this year, and I truly believe Jacksonville wins the game.

Screw brady, of course he acts like the golden boy while winning, but he can't take a loss. I used to have respect for him, but after this year, he's a little B-ich. I don't care who wins out of Jax and Pats, but I hope we play the pats if they win. We will beat them, just like we would have the last two years, if it weren't for lousy INDY. This year, Indy won't save the pats from the BRONCOS MIGHT.

The Broncos' pass defense isn't too shabby either.

Why do people keep saying the Patriots BARELY won the division? The Patriots' last 2 weeks were meaningless. If Miami lost to San Diego, they would have clinched the division with 3 weeks to go, or if the Patriots actually cared about the finale and played the starters the whole game, they would have won the division by 3 games.

Go Jags!

They have been given considerable amount of respect, Brady is just whining. I think if anyone has the right to complain about respect, it's the Jaguars, considered to be the weakest team in the playoffs by some. I hope they kick the Patriots butts. I don't care to face them, but i'm sure if we do we will whoop um. I just want to see the team that is considered the weakest beat up on the wimpy patriots

To me, for Brady to play the "disrespect" card is beyond laughable.

Perhaps he hasn't heard media members around the country almost throwing out what was thought of as a "special" season by Indy and giving the AFC crown again to the Patriots.

The Patriots will be a team to be reckoned with in the playoffs, but they are not even the most disrespected team in their own game, that would be the Jags.

Brady needs to find something more reasonable as a motivational tool so that he doesn't come across like a tool himself.

As MnG put it, Brady comes across VERY spoiled sometimes. When I heard his comments, I thought it was one of the dumbest things I had heard in awhile.

Not many people are giving the Jags much of a chance to win this game. I give props to the Jags for not turning Bradys comments into smack-though I'm sure it has crossed their minds.

Might even be "bulliton (sp) board material" :)

Patriots are ranked similarly to the Broncos in pass yards allowed per game, but the Broncos have been passed on 33 more times than the second place team in the league and quite a bit more than the Patriots.

The Patriots are ranked fourth in completion percentage yielded, while Denver is third. The difference is that Denver is ranked fourth in yards allowed per attempt, while the Patriots are 30th in yards allowed per attempt.

And the reason that we say that you barely won the division is because Miami was driving for the winning score in the first game. In four tries they weren't able to get it into the endzone, but the Pats in no way dominated that game. If the results of that game were flipped, Miami is playing to win the division in the final game. Or, should I say, it's more like, the Pats are playing to catch up to Miami, record wise.

With their defense, I give the Jags a good shot too. They have a defense that can hold the colts to 21-24 points. The only question is whether they can put up that many points themselves. Honestly though, when I watched the teams play in the latter half of the season, the Jags imploded. It wasn't Indy that beat them, it was Jacksonville, so presuming that they don't blow their opportunity, I give them a very good shot to take out Indy.

That's also my main concern. Brady has the experience, but their D is suspect. Jax has a good D, but thier QB is suspect.

Though Jax has a good run game-and Indy has shown they are suseptible to the run-they may be able to run and just pass enough to keep Peyton and Co off the field. Major key to beating Indy.

That's also a reason I think we could beat Indy. Our run game. I would just prefer the AFC Championship game in our house. Like our chances there a lot better than RCA dome.

On one of the posts today,I read we are #1 in the NFL on the time we have the ball,,something like 34 minutes 37 seconds.I think that is going to be a major factor if we play them, like you said, keeping the ball out of their hands...

wow! thats a heck of a stat! I remember a couple of years ago when we played Indy in the regular season, we kept the ball for something like 44 minutes. But almost 35 minutes is good, too :D

But their defense is banged up, that is part of the problem. Their defense will keep them in the game, but only for so long. Add in the cold weather and Foxboro magic...it will be tough for them to pull off the upset.

NE can be beaten through the air. Their secondary is weak. Unfortunately for Jax their passing offense is not good enough to take advantage of that. Unfortunately for NE, Denver's is. :D

Naw, The Browns do. They get the least respect in the league.

Archimedes Owl
01-05-2006, 02:55 PM
Well, cold weather does tend to favor defensive football teams that run the ball decently and that's what the Jags are.

I would expect for the typical home field advantage to help New England, but they shouldn't be hurt by cold weather.

Oh and the Texans did beat the Browns.

Even if the Browns shut out Miami, they have earned their disrespect to a degree.

At the same time, I honestly think that they have a future and are a team on the rise.

brady is a whiny little girl, hes been spoiled in his frist 4 seasons and has no idea the downfall hes in for. He pissed and moaned about Schottenheimer(SP) after the san diego game earlier this year and now hes whining again. Heres an idea you ****ing girl, get off your high horse and quit your *****in. Your the product of a great team, your not Joe Montana no matter how many people tell you you are. Get over yourself.

How could the Pats be disrespected when after the week 16 matchup with Tampa they we're number 3 above the Broncos in the power rankings when Denver dismantled brady already once this year? So basically if the entire NFL isnt getting down on their hands and knees and swinging from his nutts they're being disrespectful? Give me a break.

lol. Yeah, take that Brady!
You think your the least respected team and most disrespected? Look at the forty-niners, Texans, Cardinals. You think good teams go into a game against these teams and think, "Oh no. We are in trouble, this team is tough."
Hell no. They aren't respected in the least. The patriots are 10-6 and respected back to back Superbowl champs. Of course they have respect, but apparently not as much as that whiny so called "class-act" QB tom Brady wants.

Idiotic quote by Tom Brady, oh yeah, we don't have any respect... Suuuuuuuure.
