I found out during the game on Sunday that John Kitna is going to be a free agent next season. Do you think we should pick him up?

Cincy is not gonna let him go under any circumstances. Palmer is at least a year away from being a really big contributor with the ACL.

It's official he IS a free agent it's a done deal.

We can use Kitna if he comes at a reasonable price. I wouldn't mind picking him up in place of bradlee. The most important factor about bringing him in is his price.

Have you heard of "franchise player"?

I don't think Cincy will use their franchise tag on a backup quarterback...plus they said they were optimistic that Carson would be back by July for the team's mini-camps, as it was a "clean tear"...I'm not a doctor, so I can't tell you exactly what that means

Kitna will look nice holding a clip board for Jake.

ACL's take as long as a full year to heal until the player is back to "normal".

As it stands right now he is their only QB.

IMO Kitna could start for a few teams in the league, I would imagine he would shop those options first because he is not getting any younger.

I think Kitna's earned himself a nice contract extension last night. That is unless, has has been mentioned, he wants to start.

I don't think Kitna is a good fit for the Broncos. They tend to like a more mobile QB and we could probably get a decent pick up it round 2 or 3 of the draft with so many QB's coming out early this year.

We'll be more interested in someone who doesn't try to dribble a football...

Cincy will get him signed before he even thinks about shopping the market. They would be crazy not to. As mentioned, Carson will be out for a long time and Jon's importance to the team has just escalated big time. Jon himself has said that he enjoys being on the Bengal team playing his role.

Wonder how you figured that out, they only mentioned it about 10 times.

Yep, let's pick up the guy with the record for most fumbles in one game by a QB! Back in Seattle he managed 16 fumbles in one game! Oh yeah he's exactly what we need!

Not!

I have always liked Kitna and still like him despite him playing for a division rival. He's a good quarterback and he will succeed wherever he plays. I expect him to go to a team that needs a vet backup. Resign with the Bengals, or perhaps even resign with the Hawks for a year and then retire.
