CHAD TOOK SWING AT MARVIN

A league source tells us that multiple members of the Cincinnati Bengals witnessed a troubling incident as the team prepared to take the field for the second half of Sunday's playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Per the source, the last few minutes of intermission were ticking away, when the players were startled by the sight and sound of a helmet slamming against the glass pane of the training room door. Inside, receiver Chad Johnson and receivers coach Hue Jackson were engaged in an altercation. At one point, Johnson was seen holding Jackson in a headlock.

Coach Marvin Lewis entered the training room to intervene, and Johnson (per the source) took a swing at him.

Eventually, receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh broke up the skirmish, within a minute or so of the team exiting the locker room for the second half.

On Monday, several members of the team pointed to the Johnson-Jackson-Lewis incident as the catalyst for the loss of a 17-14 halftime lead and, ultimately, a 31-17 defeat.

Word is that Johnson was unhappy with the lack of balls thrown to him in the first half. A total of three passes came his way, with two completions.

In the second half, another three passes were thrown to Johnson, with only two more completions. For the game, Johnson had four catches for 59 yards.

The incident could have an even more lasting impact on the team than quarterback Carson Palmer's torn ACL and MCL. Some players, we're told, don't want to see Johnson back next year, and there's a belief that the team will be less inclined to give in to Johnson's request for a hefty restructuring of a contract that expires after the 2009 season.

So the Chad Johnson saga very well could evolve into the 2006 version of the Terrell Owens fiasco.

If so, it's very bad news for a franchise that otherwise looked to have a very bright future.

Chad won't swing at SHANAHAN!!!

No, we don't want Chad Johnson.

He can take his loud mouth, stat-driven ego,and disrespect for authority somewhere else.

Maybe Philly would like another crack at another primadonna WR?

I don't want primadonas on the Broncos. I don't care how good they are on the field.

There's something I want more than T.O. Or Chad Johnson. It's called salary cap space.

for what?? to sign your 1st born to the largest ever rookie contract? Our cap is not in the best of shape like other teams (Dallas, philly) but we will be ok.

Woah. Crazy.

I'd take either Chad or T.O, depending on the price both financialy and players/picks wise.

Why is it that so many of the elite recievers have to end up complete ****** bags, assuming this is true.

I dont believe it. Though I would LOVE Chad on the Broncos, we need another Shannon Sharpe.

Ravage!!!

I think this story is BS. I think its rumor and bullcrap. I think if it had ANY kind of truth to it, we would be hearing a lot more from other sources than at the bottom of some rumor page.

Chad Johnson is NOTHING like Terrell Owens. He's a much classier guy and doesn't get into fist fights with his coaches over the number of balls thrown his way. This is TOTAL Crap and complete made up rumor.

That being said.... we will never have a chance at Chad Johnson, although I personally would LOVE to see him on the team. But he wouldn't fit our system. We don't have a deep throwing QB.

THIS is the absolute truth. We need a stud TE more than anything else.

Alright if this bs is true and if he did sign with the Broncos DO YOU HONESTLY THINK HE WILL GET AS MANY TOUCHES AS HE'S GETTING IN CINCI?!?!?!!?

Well if this is true, do you think we could perhaps do a trade? Bengals really need help in Defense and maybe we can trade some big time names like Lynch, Pryce (If we resign him), Gerrard Warren (If we resign him) and maybe a draft pick or Ashlie Lelie? I think he is a tremendous player and even though he has a mouth it isn't as bad as TOs.

But the liklihood of us getting Chad Johnson is slim to none. CJ had a press conference to refute the story and you know what that means. It DID happen!

actually from the press in cincinatti is reporting it. U know there was a fight in the locker room that TO was involved with that was kinda the last straw. I live right next to philly and i remember the local media talking about it but the national was not. And it was true, for some reason maybe the national media doesn't report in house fights. I don't know.

I am a long time bronco fan living in Indiana and an forced to watch the colts, but reggie wayne will become a free agent after the season, he would be great to have on the broncos i think, but it will cost lots of money im afraid
