Refs been bad both ways. How can you justify a team going to the foul line 20+ in the 4th (nuggs). I want the nuggs to win but our play hasn't dictated us getting to the line that much. We need pts next posession.

DeAndre Jordan is one of the most exciting young big men in the game. I would like to see Denver trade Felton and maybe a 2nd for him this offseason and move Nene to PF.

Something is wrong with Harrington.....

He is too talented to playing this poorly. I'm not sure if he is 100%, he could have an injury and not be telling anyone about it.

Birdman is awful, I want this guy gone ASAP. I have never though he was anything.

He sucked in his 1st stint here and he has sucked in his 2nd stint. Moz or Koufos would be an upgrade. Birdman doesn't do anything, he is lazy and doesn't hustle. We should bring Mark Pope out of retirement, he would be an upgrade.....

That would be awesome.

I wouldn't mind bringing Kenyon back though. He has played great recently, he would just need to be willing to take a HUGE pay cut. Which, I think he might be willing to do.

Harrington used to be good, I was psyched when we signed him, but man has he sucked. If he doesn't show great improvement, we gotta trade him for next to nothing or something, get rid of him. Same with the Bird, he has been decent offensively recently, but awful on defense.

I'd like to see more of Mozgov and Kosta to see what we've got. But man, Zach Randolph would be sweet.

Karl said he felt like it was better for Forbes to start so that he could keep the rotations the same. He also felt like Forbes was a guy that you could just put in and play basketball, where as JR is a guy that you call plays for and such. Basically, for continuity reasons

JR is dumb.

That is all that needs to be said.

AAA >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> JR

I like JR, very happy he is on our team, and he can be a great bench player. But he is stupid, and he proved even though he has stretches where he plays great ball, he has games where he takes horrid shots, and plays dumb basketball. He's improved since Melo has been gone, but still he doesn't play smart enough to be a starter.

Which is incredibly frustrating considering he's one of the most naturally gifted players in the NBA. I hope someday he'll learn not to take stupid shots. I don't mind heat checks or anything like that but sometimes you wonder about him.

I wonder which JR I will witness before every game.

One of the most hot/cold players in the NBA.

He typically is either hot, or ice cold. Just depends. Though, he has been playing more in the middle games it seems without Melo. I hope we keep him and Karl doesn't push hard to get rid of him.

I disagree.

I don't think AAA has reached his potential at all. He is still growing. He keeps getting better. I see huge improvements from him as each week passes. I think he hasn't reached his potential yet.

JR, has a ton of potential yes. I don't think he could be a superstar, but he could be an all star.

JR has a higher ceiling than Afflalo probably, but AAA is much more dependent and much more intelligent and can play defense.

I like them both though, I just think AAA has a brighter future because JR just hasn't learned, and it doesn't look like he will. Which is why I am worried he might not be a Nugget for much longer past this season.

JR SWISH. WOW. 9-16 from deep. get out. Nuggets went crazy late. A better second half defensively. Struggled earlier but get another monster win. Whats new as of late. I am now 100% we are better without melo. At first after the trade I was 99% certain but now. No doubt. Can we get a "Who needs Melo".

THE NUGGETS have totally turned it around. I think we may have a real shot at beating OKC in the first round. Anyway if we dont its not like we would have done any better with melo. He only get us out of the first round once in 7 years anyway.

SCREW Melo. Who needs him.

Good game last night. Defense was bad in the 1st half but picked up in the 2nd. JR probably should have backed off in the 4th but thats the teams new philosophy. Never let up, old Nuggs did this team doesn't. Plus if Karl calls time outs with a couple minutes to go up 20, JR should be able to shoot up a 3.

This week big for us @NO @ATL @ORL @MIA. 2-2 should be our goal this week, but Galo and AAA expected back this week which will help.

Unfortunately I think 2-2 needs to be considered a good trip, but really, we should go 3-1 at the worst.

As for Miami, they got lucky, they are going to get us on a back to back after a hard fought game against Orlando more than likely.

But we are young, the back to back shouldn't effect us 'that much', but it always will a little.

I am hoping for 4-0 obviously, but will be content with 3-1, and ok with a 2-2 road trip.

Hope AAA and Gallo are back for all 4, not sure tho.

Melo is a premier scorer, everyone knew that. However imagine being the guys we brought in. People constantly saying your not good enough, first they mortgage for lebron, then hearing amare is carrying that team, then you are being thrown out for Melo. Finally you get here and you have George saying we wanted you guys, and we brought you all in. Finally getting a shot to just play basketball with no distractions. I'm glad we did this trade, guys who are willing to put in work and don't need that super stardom.

Birdman has been at the very worst effective since the Trade. He isn't going to bully people down low, not his game. He is a poor version of Marcus Camby. If he keeps giving us these solid 14 minutes I will have no complaints from him being back around. Pre trade I thought Bird was garbage this year, and wanted to trade him. I was wrong though.

I really don't see it, the only thing he has contributed is some double digit point totals that were all very easy buckets. He choked away the Portland game at the free throw line.

He is still garbage and isn't worth .0001% of what he is currently making.

He is by far the worst player on the team. I wish we would have sent him to NY and kept AC or Williams.

So I have been thinking about the trade and had a thought and wanted to see what you guys think. What IF Felton and Billups were left out of the trade. We keep Billups and they kept Felton. Personally, if that scenario played out I don't think we'd be having the same success. True Billups is a legacy, but he just couldn't keep pace with this style. He can't really push the ball and is not a pick and roll PG. Plus he is at best an average defender. Where as Felton is a great passer, plays the pick and roll, and is an excellent defender. Plus with Billups here I don't think Lawson would be getting the kind of minutes he is now. Hate me for bashing our hometown hero, but Im glad Billups was in the trade because IMO he isn't suited for our new style of basketball.

True, but I also don't think Felton will be here past this year, unless he is content being the backup to Ty like he is right now. He is still getting good minutes, so hopefully he'll be happy with that.

New Nba power rankings have Nuggets at #9, which is a pretty good spot if you ask me. This was up one spot from last week, and I'm sure this could climb even more if we have a good showing on this road trip.

http://www.nba.com/2011/news/powerrankings/03/14/week20/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt1

The Nuggets are now 7-2 since trading Carmelo Anthony, better both offensively (110.2) and defensively (96.3) than they were with him. And when you consider how well they played through all the speculation before the trade, George Karl has to be in the Coach of the Year conversation, right? Recovering from Cancer + Melo drama + new look Nuggets success = Coach of year IMO. I can't really think of any coach that is more deserving than Karl.

I actually think our style of play matches up well against the Spurs. Not saying we'd beat them, but I think they'd have a very hard time keeping up with us. As for the Lakers, I think we CAN beat them, but I don't necessarily think we will because we don't really have that veteran leadership on offense. Kmart is a great leader on defense, and I think Ty is developing into that leadership role that Chauncey had, but I don't know how we'll respond to crunch time in the playoffs. Again, I'm not saying we'd beat either of those teams, but I do think our defense is better than it was during our Western Conference run and the offense is on about the same level.

That is why the Lakers are a harder matchup for us than the Spurs, in my opinion. I like our athleticism against the Spurs big men, but if we can't get those defensive rebounds against the Lakers our fastbreak points will be nonexistent.

To be honest, I dont think any of the top dogs want to see the Nuggets since they are IMO the wild card of the playoffs. They are a very streaky team with some red hot shooter when there on. They really remind me of the Suns from last year. Scary good at times.

The problems with the Nuggets, just like last years Suns team will be height. When a 3pt team has an off night, they will need to get rebounds. Nene is way to inconstant and the bench is too small for a match up against Dallas or the Lakers.

I do agree the Nuggets can be the spurs if they push the ball for the entire series.

Cant wait for the playoffs my self (and more so, a healthy andrew bynum......for once!!!!......maybe?)

I'm not sure if you've seen all the Nuggets games recently but K-Mart & Birdman have been actually playing quite well since Melo left. Gallo is a pretty big dude himself who should be back soon, and we have Mozgov and Koufus coming off the bench.

It's not a question of size, but they are just simply out hustled and stregthed under the basket. When the hornets were trying to comeback last night, they were getting rebound after rebound. We don't have a premier rebounder, the lakers do in bynum. He physically outmatched Dwight Howard last night, we don't have a guy nearly as good as howard off the glass.

-Hornets (even after last nights game, and the beat down we gave them in the playoffs two years ago, they scare me, not really sure why)

Spurs, even with their record, don't scare me a whole lot, same with the Mavericks.

Anyways, now that we have Timofey and Kosta, I feel much better about our chances against the Lakers, especially because we are a TEAM now. But still, they are very scary, even with the 'off year' they are having.

Lakers having an off year? Undrerstand, the. team is going for its 4th finals appearence in a row. That's something mj and the bulls never did. The regular season for a championship teams means almost nothing but the lakers did play to lax early on but have now hit full stride. Every laker team to go 10 and 1 after the all star break has made the finals.

Dude, you are having an off year from years past, face it.

That wasn't a knock at you, as you are still the team that scares me the most.

But, in Lakers standards recently, you are having an 'off year'. Which is a great year for most teams .

Only team that scares me is the Lakers. Everyone else we COULD beat. But if Karl reduces us to a 7 or 8 man rotation in the playoffs, like most teams do, we will lose in the 1st round.

I highly doubt he does that, our bench is waaaaaay better than most teams as far as depth goes. Felton, Chandler(when Gallo comes back), JR, Birdman, and Forbes can all contribute; and we still have Mazgov and Koufos developing. I think we'll have a 9 or 10 man rotation even into the playoffs, any less and we'd wear ourselves out with our fast pace.

I like how things are going for the team this year more then 2009/2010. Both of those seasons the lakers packed it in early for the regular season and in 2010 they did not show up against any potential playoff contenders. If I remember correctly the Nuggets beat the lakers 3x last year. They coasted since they were tired down the stretch

The way this team was playing pre all star break I would agree with you 100% but they are peaking and getting Bynum/Barnes healthy at the right time time this year. They will be a power house going in this year vrs other years they have gone in limping with the media saying Kobes finished. This could be the strongest team going in we have since are last 3 peat with Shaq when we went 14-1 (playoffs/finals) to hoist are first 3peat in the Phil jackson era.

I dont it as a knock by anymeans since thats how most fans around the league perceive are year. Let the Spurs have the best record in the West since it means nothing, but the lakers do need to finish and close out the season above Boston/Chicago/Miami.

The old nuggets would have just shot and missed and if they got hot jump shooting we may have got back into it but probaly not on the road. Nuggets are team again and I love it. Melo and the Knicks continue to struglle. Love that also :D

The Denver Nuggets could get some additional scoring punch vs. Orlando
By Benjamin Hochman

ORLANDO — The last time we all saw Danilo Gallinari, he was going all Carmelo on the Trail Blazers, scoring 30 points for Denver, while getting to the line with authority. But that was Feb. 25, the same night he fractured his big toe on his left foot.

But there’s a possibility that Gallo could return on Friday against the Magic.

“We’ll see,” Gallinari said following the Nuggets’ afternoon practice. “We’ll talk with the trainers tonight, see how it feels after today’s practice. I had a chance to run and jump and was trying to get some contact.”

Nuggets coach George Karl said “I think he’ll play,” but noted that Gallo had seemed tentative on the left foot in some workouts. Karl said if the Italian forward does play, it would be for around 20 minutes.

And for the fans who forgot about Gallo’s game – he only played two games with Denver before the injury – Karl said, “He’s known for his shooting, but I think he’s a total player. Any young player is going to be at a stage where he’s adding to his game. What we saw early was that he can penetrate, drive the ball and get fouled. He wants to run and play fast, being multi-dimensional. He’s excited about the opportunity.”

20 minutes is all we need from him. Bring Gallo back slow. But with him for 20 minutes that gives us another boost. Hopefully he takes Harrington's minutes.
