    Charlie Garner goes to Bucs

ESPN.com - The Bucs have reached an agreement in principle with former Raiders running back Charlie Garner, opting to sign Garner over the Eagles' Duce Staley.

Garner is expected to sign a six-year, $20 million contract with the Bucs that includes $4 million in up-front money. Garner was also high on the list of the Broncos, who recently traded Clinton Portis to the Redskins.

The Bucs moved quickly to reunite Garner with his former Raiders coach, Jon Gruden. They had been negotiating with Staley, who visited last week. Staley spent Monday in Pittsburgh and was in serious negotiations with the Steelers.

that's what i figured. i'd rather start a draft pick than pay a grandpa like that for 4 years.

                    4 years huh?

That guy's agent must be a total slickster, considering that he might end up as a very highly paid 36 year old senior citizen at the end.
Glad the Broncs didn't do that.
The question then becomes, if not him, then who?
Looks more like Griffin to me.
With the staff drueling over winslow, troupe and watson at TE, it seems VERY unlikely that the first round pick will be a RB, and I would also bet that most of the really good backs are going first round this year.....but who knows, afterall, everyone passed up Portis in the first round.

nah people... he may be getting old but face, he's fast, extremely powerfull and even when he was a raider i hated playing him cause... and i may be alone on this one but "he's got the best hands for a running back in the league."
