The Red Sox are slowly killing me
Thank god it was only a three game series, I don't think I can take much more of this. maybe they are going to let the Yanks get up by 11.5. So we can avenge 1978? I got hang my hat on something.
Side Note- I hate the guy, but the play Jeter made in the 12th was absolutely sick.

On my way to the game, I"m telling my friend, "There's no way they can top last nights come-from-behind victory" (which we were at)
Well, I just got back from the game....perhaps the best and craziest i've ever seen...every inning had excitement.
To sum it all up, tonight's Yankees-Sox game was an emotional rollercoaster!!!!

You may be right, but guess what, the Red Sox have the second highest payroll in the League...doesn't seem to help them out. Same goes for the Mets.
Bottom Line--- The players have to go out and play the games, nobody buys a championship. If that was the case, they would have given out the World Series trophy before the season starts.

It's not just the Yankees
Yes, I know the Yankees spend the most but other teams do the same thing. The Red Sox are right behind them in spending. The only difference, the Yanks win with their talent. I think a lot of that credit goes to Torre. By the way, you know the only reason the Yanks got A-Rod and the Sox didn't? About $15 mil. The Sox wouldn't shell out the extra amount. Maybe baseball would be more fair if the Yankees didn't buy ever good person on the Market, come on - that team is like an all-star cast.
By the way, a quick list of Yankees that Steinbrenner didn't buy: Bernie Williams, Derek Jeter, Jorge Posada, Andy Pettite, Mariano Rivera, Orlando Hernandez, Nick Johnson. Just a short list but pretty good hey. I know they spend a lot but they also have a great farm system (It's down right now though). All in all they are just the GREATEST franchise ever.
Say what you want about Steinbrenner but he is the greatest owner around. He gives his fans what they want and what they deserve; a great team YEAR IN AND YEAR OUT!!!! He doesn't liquidate and pocket money like so many greedy owners. Like I said, he shelled out over $70 mil in luxury taxes and still spent the most on any team in sports history.
