His name was Rex.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss, diesel. I recently had to put my own dog down. She was part pit, and she tried to bite my daughter on 2 different occasions. It was one of the hardest things I ever had to do. I loved that dog soo much, but I love my little girls more.

Not one to bring up old threads, but the vet called yesterday to tell us that Rex did have that kidney diesease that can be spread to humans.


It's called Leptospiriosis, or something like that.


However, basically the only way you can get it is if you come in contact with the animal's urine, with the greatest chance coming from being in water that has the infected animal's urine in it.

Crazy.


The period of time that passes before humans start showing signs of this disease is anywhere from 2 days to 4 weeks.

Can be pretty difficult to get over.

But, don't worry, you can't catch Lepto from sharing a internet forum!

Shame knowing what he died from give you an answer to why, but doesn't do much to ease your loss.

I know I can't even stand the though of something happening to my dogs.

His name was Rex.


Was a Shetland Sheepdog (minature collie).


Had some kind of kidney disease.



They are running a test to which we'll get the results to in a week to see if his disease is the kind that is also contagious to humans.

that sucks dude, sorry to hear it. our dog died after about 10 years, had internal bleeding and cancer so i feel your pain. sorry to hear it

i remember when i had to put my last dog down..... i cried for days.....

sorry to hear about you losing your friend/pet.

Pets are so hard to lose, especially dogs, dogs are so easy to get attached to....
