I'm a pretty socialable type person that enjoys giving people attention..

Even though Mom's said it's not nice to point I use that alot of times as a way to say hi...

I also grin at just about anyone that looks at me....

Cmon BFinMD.....I waved at you yesterday and you snubbed me big time. I said to this guy: "Hey isn't that BroncoFaninMD?" and he said "Sure is, but don't feel bad if you get snubbed, glasses or no glasses". And then I said: "I just made that up" and he said: "Next time leave me out of your stupid story!"

well that is true cuz if i see any of you guys/gals in the mall im not gonna act like i know ya

the only time i have issues with saying hi to people i havent seen in a while is when i forget their name... like old HS friends, ya know the face but cant put a name with it... in those cases i use the old fallback, "sup brother"

everyone's a brother or sister when ya forget their names

ALong that thought... I wa sout the other day and saw someone from my past, 5 years or so ago. Anywho... he walks over all cheery and jolly and crap because obviously we recognized each other!! So I say hi back in kind of a cold manner and keep it short and walk off and as I walk away I'm thinking it was strange that he'd be so friendly because we never got laong, always got into trash talk that almost lead to a couple of fist fights and in fact got me sent home from work one day... it was one of those *** moments for sure!

    I hope that made sense.
In the heat of the moment...it all makes sense to me.

I have to admit that depending on my time and how it's going, I have been guilty of that little crime, although I do my best to say at least a quick hello in passing. It's probably that most of us don't want to get into a long, meaningless conversation about almost nothing, when we have time restrictions. Sometimes we aren't looking our best, which is the way we are used to looking when in their company. Sometimes we feel awkward in that setting. Sometimes we just flat out don't like the person.

But I was jolted the other day, when I was in the local mall and an old friend of mine walked by, seemingly looking towards me, and kept on walking. Then it made me act goofy, as I felt the urge to be non sociable right back. Gotcha!!! And then I thought...what was that all about. Maybe he was looking right past me. But I swear I looked straight at him and gave him a quick look of "hey dude".

Humans are strange indeed. Kind of two-faced. This has happened far too many times for me to believe it's other than "general weirdness" 101.

My recommendation....send them a wave or a smile, and if they don't react, their loss!!!

really the only reason i avoid contact with someone i know is if i don't particularly like that someone.

otherwise i'll at least give a nod or a "hey" in passing.
