We have a tradition gathered from my wife's family in which we have cheesecake for breakfast on Christmas Day.
I couldn't hang with it this year however. I had to have some eggs before I hit the junkfood.Leave a comment:

Happy New Years to all :salute!:
i will be having my 2nd helping of this meal after i leave work tonight... does that make me twice as lucky this year..
for those that dont know about the tradition of the PA Dutch
According to a column by Craig Wilson, published in USA Today on November 4, 2003, “eating sauerkraut on New Year’s is an old Pennsylvania Dutch tradition… said to bring good luck". The traditional meal consists of pork and sauerkraut served together, with the sauerkraut representing luck and the pig representing rooting into the New Year. Its a feel good and flavoursome ritual and it may be just what you need to start the new year
We have to do the Kilvasa/sauerkraut/dough balls on a regular basis. Its braly growing on the kids & I am still trying to understand why one would eat this many carbs!👍 1Leave a comment:

Yep... I come from a long line of kraut porkers. Excellent stuff today at the inlaws so apparently the Scots like to pork krauts too...
I see the tradition continuing in my family. I also see the leftovers in the fridge in my mouth within a minute or two... :p👍 2Leave a comment:
