Most Agonizing Hour of my Life....Underway.

I saw the other thread, about people returning to school today, and I was about to post something when I noticed that I had been knocked out of my classes. I went around to find out what's going on, and I found out I'm academically suspended, and I misunderstood the 90-hour rule. So now I have to wait till 10 AM today to find out if I can even continue my college career.

This could change just about everything in my life. If the Department Head says No, then I'm out of school for good. I'm not going back, I'm not transferring, none of that. I don't think I could handle being in school for THAT much longer, because you know most of my credits won't transfer.

what's the 90 hour rule?

Also what are you studying, and how far is your progress?

if the school you're at doesn't let you continue, you shouldn't quit. life out there without a degree is rough, trust me I know...that's why I've gone back to school.

you should look into other schools and transfer if necessary. don't give up on yourself man.

Ok, first of all, most importantly: I wanted Morris, but I'm happy with McDaniels.

Now then...I talked to the department head, and he signed the waiver letting me back in. I got to re-enroll in one class I was already intending to take, but the other one I wanted was full. So I signed up for a different class, and everything's working out.

The 90-Hour rule means that, since I have more than 90 hours, I was allowed to petition for them to let me back in and enroll in up to 15 hours to try and get my GPA back up, which shouldn't be a tough task...it's 1.87. Yeah yeah...I didn't do well, but my first mistake was not getting my ADHD meds for a whole semester. Huge mistake. But that's all past now, they let me back in. I just thought for a while that I was gonna be out of there. I wasn't expecting the guy to look at my record and be impressed enough to let me back in.

I'm a senior, and I'm studying MIS. The only reason I was thinking about quitting was because I already owe so much in student loan debt that it's irresponsible to try and accumulate more. If anything, I would have tried to work some of that debt down and try again later. But that's a non-issue now.

So that's it, I'm back in. I went to my first class a few moments after settling it.

What is the 90 hour rule?

Basically, since I have more than 90 credit hours to my name, I am allowed to re-enroll on the basis that I have 15 credit hours left to get my GPA up. If I succeed in doing so, I'm back without a hitch. If I fail to do so, then I'm kicked out for good.

But I'm only taking 2 classes at a time, which is 6 hours, so if I do it this way, I have 6 hours this semester, 6 hours next, and 3 after that to get my GPA above a 2.0. 2 classes shouldn't be too hard to manage. I should have my GPA back up after this semester.
