  • Any college Students here?

Are there any here because i could use some advice to boost my study habits. Especially Anatomy and Physiology it's unreal.. Also my Bio-labs.

Should i read the text and take notes or use flash cards?

I have been just taking notes on slides and in my notebook.

Shes a real "read out of a book kind of teacher" So im scared im not getting the concepts %100. My goal for this quarter is a 4.0 any advice on how 2 reach that goal?

While I both agree and disagree with many posts in this thread I have to lean towards champ on this one. Jay really needs to learn how to manage the game better, and also to learn that you don't have to go for the big play EVERY time on every drive. There is something to be said to check the ball down and live to fight another day. -Great Post Cut the Excuses out please. sigh...

yikes... i'm glad i wasn't like a science major or whatever you're going for...

but i never read a whole lot of anything......

most of the time the text books go to waste. i'd skim and look for key points...

take notes on cards... that way you have them handy and accessible.

i took tons of notes my first few years... and still continued to take notes later if it was warranted...

a lot of profs will say they will be testing hard straight from the book... but a lot of them lie...

      I just got done with A.P 2.

I took A.P 1 the semester before it, and I can vouch and say that 2 was MUCH easier.

I studied a TON of flash cards. Make them, and study them. The process of creating them will help sink the info into your brain, and just keep playing memory with them.

      Remember, reading is not studying.

oh gosh, you got one of those professors.

Read the text and use flash cards instead of pages and pages of notes.
Whenever I write pages and pages of notes I'm not paying attention and get bored easily. W/ flash cards it's much easier and it also comes in handy when it's time to study for the final exam.

I'm going to be no help at all. I go to school online, so I don't have to worry about such things.

I actually have bro...And I've *****ed about it to MANY members.

              I hated both A/P 1 and 2. Worst class I've ever taken.

My advice..... Taking all these fancy classes isn't going to impress her. You just need to take deep breath and tell her how you feel about her. Trust me it's the right thing to do. Her hormones are pulling her in a thousand different directions and she's curious about her body and wants to explore her sexuality.

Last semester I had to only read 1 text book out of the 5 classes I had.

The final was based on everything in the text book, so had to read every single page word for word.

Best way to read a text book is just read it and highlight important facts and make use of stickies.

                    you guys study to hard.

my first semester i must of studied for like a total of 2 hours the entire semester. probably because my classes are easy.

but of course i hate studying. i have a very good memory so i just study 10 minutes before the test, get an A or B+ and then forget the information for the rest of my life

                      College student here.

Getting a good grade in a given class is all about finding the mannerisms and expectations of your professor. The out of the text book prof is quite common. In classes such as anatomy, bio and physiology (not my choice of pursuit, but point remains the same) can be more easily understood over a textbook.

Basically, you need to know how your brain works. People learn and retain information in different ways. Likely, you have done tests or heard about this in school. Anyways, I would say the safe bet for you in these classes would be to read and take notes. BUT, there is a right and a wrong way to take notes.

Taking notes if done incorrectly, will not do much in the way of helping you retain the material. Here's how how a brilliant prof told me to do it, and it really works.

Read your assigned material. After completing a subsection or paragraph is the proper time to take your notes. Close your book (or simply don't read it) and write down what you remember from the previous section. This challenges your brain to work and learn in new ways. Keep in mind, this is a skill. When you first begin, it's extremely difficult and you may be surprised how much of the material slides right over your head. Keep practicing this and your comprehension skills will go through the roof.

Ya know the problem is. Im not trying to [email protected]$$ any of this effort considering im paying for all of this and trying to get accepted into the college of my dreams. Not to mention i feel when i come out jobs are gonna be competed for world wide not just by americans. Ive got to be the best i can be.

                        My method ive developed is.

                        1. Read ahead of the class./ highlight important material
                        2. Take the notes in class
                        3.Read over highlighted material
4.Study what teacher tells us to study.

Its becoming much easier and i dont forsee to many problems until nextquarter now LORD WILLING!!
