  • Thanks to another one of those wonderful Colorado Lows, we are getting a lot of very wet snow this weekend. It almost breaks your back shoveling.....mind you, I am a very accomplished shoveler.....

              • The San Juans (in SW Colorado) got pounded by this last storm. Many places received between 3 and 5 feet; and these are the moderately elevated places where people live (i.e. Durango & Silverton) and/or work (i.e. pass summits) - generally between 7,000 & 11,000 feet. Who knows how much snow there was higher up. The Wolf Creek Ski Area reported a total of 67 inches from this storm. I live on the leeward side of the San Juans and the Uncompahgre Plateau so in general I'm shielded from these types of storms. We had 4 or 5 "skiff" incidents so saying we got off lucky is an understatement.

More's on the way come mid week too...

Here are a couple of interesting pics from Durango that you all might enjoy.

We had very wet snows last week but today's is dry.

And I just witnessed some idiot going way too fast trying to turn the corner and he slid across the road, clipped the back of a Dodge Ram and smacked into a concrete wall. He got out cussing and carrying on and it's like..... slow down you moron.

He won't have to worry about sliding now since a tow truck is required.

                      What a baffoon.

Being in a hurry on icy roads is a recipe for disaster and can also merit a person the stupid badge for the day.

It has actually converted into a wet snow now.
