Bike shopping SUCKS!!

For downhill i have an old 2002 Santa Cruz Super 8 with a Marzocchi Monster fork. Its massive but it gets the job done, and rather well. I have seen a few of them on craigslist recently, usually around 1000-1400. If you want a hybrid type of bike, I would go with specialized or santa cruz. The Specialized Enduro has a front fork with 5" of travel, and an adjustable rear shock that goes between 2-6" of travel, also has a lockout for that hardtail feel.

I just have a hardtail Gary Fischer Wahoo for my cross-country moutain bike, got it for 500, added better pedals and tires for 200 more. Rides really solid.

Overalll though its mostly your own preference. Each bike has its own benefits and drawbacks.

The ducati fit my style perfectly. The Only cbr 1000RR I would ever get, would be a Repsol Special edition. I think the New 08-09 Cbr1000's are very ugly. However the thing will run forever. I do like the exhaust on them though.

Yeah, that is a pretty neat thing they did with the exhaust. I loved it up under the seat coming out the back they way they used to do it and never had a heat issue at all with it there. But the new style? NICE!! :thumb:

I guess for me... and keep in mind I haven't been on a in about 3 years.... but it was too hard and when I pulled my legs up they didn't fit right on the tank. It was uncomfortable. Before I bought my CBE I sat on everthing! But when I sat on the Hinda my legs fit perfect on the tank and it just felt right. I'll admit.... Ducati does make a great looking and performing bike.

Giants are pretty solid, i have a friend that had one for a long time, and that bike took a lot of punishment but always delivered.

Hard-tails are great on climbs, but leave something to be desired on downhill

Yeah... Id LOVE a full suspension... but as I think more about it I'll be doing a lot more trails and what not to not justify the extra dough for the soft tail.
