  • Does anyone else have this problem?

First and foremost, I must say that the Broncos are like a drug to me. Watching them calms me down and makes everything right in the world. I am addicted to the Denver Broncos.

Now, on to my dilemma. Does anyone else revolve their life around the Broncos? Where you are depressed after losses, you always take games too seriously, your friends/family don't get why you like them so much and take it so seriously, and last but not least...have to have a job that allows you to watch every game live? I know there will be a lot people who say yes to the above scenarios.

I have only missed a total of 4 games the past 13 seasons. 1 was most recent where I missed the Baltimore game due to work. I had never worked a Sunday prior to that in over 9 years. I recently took a job at Wal-Mart because the economy sucks and the job market it tough. They made me open my availability to include Sunday hours. If I keep this job I will miss the remainder of the Broncos season. This is new to me and frankly I wish I was still unemployed and looking for work while watching our Broncos. I have to watch games live and feel them as they happen. Like I said, they are like a drug to me.

What would you do Broncos Country? Ask them to have Sundays off until football is over or quit and find something else while able to watch Broncos football? Is it bad to ask for Sundays off if I just started there 3 weeks ago?

I guess my addiction (the Broncos) is on a different level right now and has been the past few seasons. My family even gets mad at me for taking the Broncos so seriously.

Does anyone else let the Broncos rule their life or play a major part like this?

(side note - the day after our next win I am getting the horsehead logo tattooed on my left arm)

I know what you mean man. A few years ago my wife and I were seriously considering moving to Hawaii, and the first thing I had to find out was if I could get NFL Sunday Ticket there. I have missed maybe ten games in the last 20 years or so. It's just part of who I am, there's no need to try and change it.

But, I would say power through man. In this economy you should never quit a job unless it's for a better one. You may not like it but try DVR. Just do everything you can not to hear the score and record all the pre and post game stuff and watch it when you get home. It may not be ideal but it's better than missing it entirely. Just a thought.

I like the Broncos and watch every game, when they lose I get pissed and kind of depressed but then you have to think the players after a lose are still millionaires and im not and its only a game, move on and get a life outside of football unless there paying u. Watch some of the players after a game there joking with other players they know. Bottom line move on.

I'm a little obsessed with the Broncos myself. When they win all is good. When they lose I won't watch anything football related for a week. I collect anything Bronco related and my basement is stocked with Bronco memorabilia. Up untill about 3 years ago I had never missed a game. But I got a new job that required me to miss a game or two each season which isn't too bad and I get to listen to them on the radio. More importantly the job allows me to provide a very good life for my kids and they will always take priority. They know I love the Broncos and they watch with me, but they lose interest and want dad to wrestle or play something and the broncos can wait. Chazoe had good idea, get a dvr. They are worth it. When my kids need my attention and I'm watching the Broncos I can just pause it and tend to their needs come back and resume the game. Plus you can fast foreword through the commercials.

My wife gets pretty mad at me. I recently made a trip to Fort Worth, and realized I would be a long way from home last Monday night. I therefore insisted we stop at a motel in time for the game.

My wife will ask me if we should do________ (fill in the blank) on Sunday. The first thing I do is check to make sure it doesn't conflict with game time.

I work night shift, but I wake up early for the game every Sunday.

I'm lucky enough to work at a place that has a TV, so even when I have to work during game time, I still get to see most of the game.

The only thing that takes priority over the Broncos for me is my family. If we have some family gathering, then yes, I miss the game, and I usually miss one or two games a year because of it, but I love my wife, and I love my kids, and while they like to sit and watch with me for a while, they usually get bored soon and are off doing other things.

No, my wife doesn't really understand my obsession, but she loves me enough to put up with it.

As far as your job goes, don't quit, but instead, keep on searching for a job that will either give you Sundays off, or maybe you'll get lucky enough to work somewhere with a TV.

Until then, take chaz and greg's advice. Get a DVR. It's not going to be ideal, but it's better than missing the game.

I do have a DVD burner. It is still not the same. I am sure everyone can relate to that. As for the girl comment, you are right I do need a woman in my life.

One other thing I forgot to add is that with my current work schedule not only do I miss the Broncos I also miss time to spend with family. My weekend is Monday-Tuesday. It is a pretty crappy schedule. But it is a job in the end. I shouldn't be mad that I have a job, I feel blessed to have one as well.

I think I am just going to use working Sundays as extra motivation to get a different job.

Thanks to everyone for their input on this.
