  • Any dentists' out there?

So.... I have a question on something the dentist askes me everytime I come in(whether is be a new dentist and first visit or the one i"ve had for a few years); "Does your jaw pop at all?"

Here's the situation; sometimes it does. It never really did "pop" except for extreme rare occasions. Over the last year it seems to be getting more consistant to the point that if I want, I can get it to pop if I open at a slightly angled... well... angle. It also pops when I eat non-crunchy food like a big piece of bread, chewy candy, the dough on a pizza, steak, etc.

But, my concern is not the pop, it's why the dentist always askes me. I'll be honest... when put on the spot with the question my mind goes blank and I mumble as best I can- "Uh... no...."

It's so they can help you. They probably want to know if you have tempromandibular joint disorder. Then they can tell you what to do if you have it.

No problem. It has something to do with inflammation.

Thank you for getting me to two bars.
