The local NBC affiliate in Denver has had a program encouraging women to find a "buddy" and remind them to do a self breast exam every month on the ninth of the month.

So this well be a tread I will try to "bump" up every month to remind the female members to do a self exam.

I will take it one step further. I will also remind men to do a self exam too. Testicular Cancer also need to be prevented.

Well haven't heard kind of program like that. But why not. My best friend, who is 20, was just diagnosed with testicular cancer and has been in the hospital all week undergoing tests and procedures. Hopefully they caught it in time.

That's what I was going to say. If you have the priviledge of being in a committed relationship it only makes sense to incorporate this into playfull time for you both. And bonus it will keep your significant other around that much longer!

Great thread! Also important- prostate exams! My father-in-law is having surgery in sept to remove a prostrate tumor and his father battled the disease twice eventually to succumb three years ago. If there is a history in your family it is imperative, as for my hubby, to get yearly exams!

I always tell my wife to go ahead and invite her friends over and we can have a big ta-ta check party. That usually ends with a punch in my arm. Can you get cancer from continuous punches to one part of your body?
