Police Ride Along's

Aww man seriously..

Ride alongs are fun as hell.

Today I went on a ride along for the first time and damn was it fun.

Got a call to a gang fight , noise disturbance , pulled over a gang member on their bike , pulled over a lady with tinted windows , and helped out a sick lady who had fallen down in her apartment. (that one wasn't so fun).

Plus the officers are funny dudes they just joke around and play pranks on each other.

Anybody else ever gone on one of these?

I wanted to be a cop all along , but now I really wanna do it.

Yeah I went on one back when I was a teenager or whatever.

We got called out to a burning farm, escorting (prisoner from one county to another) and pulled over a drunk dutch driver who was doing 180 km/h (~110 mph) in a stolen car. That bit was probably the most fun part as he refused to pull over so the chase went on for like 10 minutes lol.

Aside from that, nothing much happened. I lived in a small town at the time.

Fyi, if you're "cuffed" its not really a ride-along.

I was on rescue for 10 years. I still enjoy lurking.

I was pretty nervous because I thought the dude i was gonna end up with would be an a hole or something.

But nah from the moment we went on patrol it was pure fun.

The first thing he said was

"you ready to violate peoples rights" of course jokingly.

He told me a funny story about a rattle snake that they got a call on once.

It was a Sunday and animal control wasn't working so they had to take care of it.

Everyone was to afraid to kill it so what he did was run over it with his patrol car. That was a funny story haha.

Whats ironic about cops is that they are supposed to uphold the law but hardly any of them ever do.

This guy was speeding , turning with no signals , rolling stops , and using the phone.

But I'm glad i went on this ride along.. I live in a medium sized town , and I was surprised on how much action goes on.

I got to see the fun side of it , the action side of it , the helpful side of it , and the drama side of it all in about 4 hours.

It was a good experience. Plus I met some important people there who might hook me up with a job in a few years.

And its easy to do just go to your local police station and ask about a ride along their obligated to offer you one.
