This forum is what you make it, y'know. You don't have to keep coming back to a discussion with someone you don't want to talk to. You don't have to get insulted by words on a screen. You don't have to click on every thread in GD and you don't have to take everyone seriously. You can use the ignore list.

It's a shame to leave because this is a very good forum, really. The mods are good. The community of regulars is good. There are some established posters who make great threads and contributions. It's a good place to get up-to-date news and hear a variety of opinions (some good... some bad... some terrible).

This is probably the only time I'll post something constructive in a thread like this because for the most part I think if you're leaving, you should just log off and be done. This kind of thread should never be made. One, it's attention-seeking, and you shouldn't need that attention if you're not planning to come back. Two, if we/you get into the reasons for your leaving (or if it's done directly after an argument or something) this kind of thread is just an excuse to flame. And three, if you do come back (as is often the case) people will hold this over your head.

But hey, you won't read this anyway, right?

I get curious and somewhat confused when someone makes a thread like this...

How long does the poster stick around afterwards to see what responses they get?

If they stick around to see them, does that mean that they really aren't leaving?

If they don't stick around to see them, what's the point of all our responses?

Seriously, the more I think about this, the more confused I get.

Just stay away from general discussion area or at least take a break from it for a little bit. It works for me because there are alot of times i feel the same way & get frustrated even trying to get my point across so i just mostly post in Anything But Football.

You can't go wrong posting in this section because everybody who does post in here is cool & i'm almost certain there are no arguments in this area other than kidding around.

This is my favorite part of the boards because you feel like you really get to know one another & it's like a little family in here.

There are some aggravating always "in your face" posters who just want to play devil's advocate, but overall everyone is decent and offer great insight on a lot of different subjects, not just football and our favorite team.

I recall being a member of the Buccaneers board years ago when one of our best posters faked his own death just so he could start his own private board. Now that was WEIRD.

But if you must go....

Ebbs and flows man. Sure there is a lot of bad here, but there is a lot of good too. People were divided on Jake/Jay years ago, not it is Orton/Tebow. I'm sure another one is down the road.

If it gets too bad, take a break, but there are a lot of good posters and positive things here if you look around.

They do always come back. I left 3 years ago, and just came back about a week and a half ago. Not going to anything 'Tebow/Orton' related. I left because of the whole 'Cutler/McDaniels' debacle.

Slowly making it back.....baby steps....baby steps...
