Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

A couple more shots from the same spot up the hill from me. Taken about 8:30 tonight, just a little while ago.
Panning left to the SE again, towards Elbert. You can see the smoke coming on the right.
Facing West, a little bit North, from my front yard. Just before I drove up the hill. Wanted to get that color between the treetops on the right.
In that top picture, it almost looks like it's, well, not so bad. Of course, the reports tell a different story. But you see that first hump in the hills just to the right of Pikes Peak? The town of Monument is pretty much straight downhill from that. (There's another smaller ridge you can't see from here between that and the town.) The USAF Academy is just to the South of that. Looks pretty clear to me there.
If you blow that one up yourself somehow, you can see the smoke flowing into the city.
Disgusting. Some people have absolutely no consideration.
No kidding! To rip off people when they are at their lowest. Evacuated, and fearing the worst. To think some lowlife is going thru their home looking to steal.
They found a second body.......
Too bad the deaths and looters weren't the same story. Looters should be shot on sight!
DENVER – Two people have been arrested for allegedly burglarizing a vacated home in the Waldo Canyon Fire evacuation area, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation announced Thursday.Belinda Yates, 38,…

Absolutely agree! Hopefully they get what they have coming.

According to news sources, a third person has died....
In addition:
Colorado Springs Police Chief Pete Carey said 120 National Guard troops are joining the effort this weekend to help supplement local police. As some evacuated residents have begun returning home, there have been at least 22 reports of burglaries behind the fire lines while they were away, he said. He called the crimes “unconscionable.”
I am all for the old-style "western" justice.....our judicial system is so fractured and muddled that people like these will barely see jail time....

Yeah, I saw the report about the 22 homes burglarized. Also how evacuees cars were getting broken into at area hotels. Of course, in today's world, you can't leave anything in view inside a car. But what are people supposed to do?
I guess haul all your stuff into the hotel room. If your fortunate enough to have one....
Clearly, the cops are overwhelmed. There's always some scum waiting in the shadows to take advantage of the situation. Ya can't trust anyone these days. I assume you heard about the fake firefighter they caught at the High Park fire. Unreal.
Here's hoping the Guard will be hard on anyone they catch.
I could not bring myself to go down there Friday. With all they have going on, they don't need anyone else in the way. Monument looks to be OK, but still......
Just thought I'd post a quick update on the Waldo Canyon Fire. It is now 98% Contained and it's raining here in the Springs tonight! Should be 100% very soon! Most of the state is getting rain as well, wich is great!! The only bad thing now is flash flooding in the burn area. Unfortunatly it's not a mater of if but when it will happen. Glad this thing is under control, thanks again fire fighters!
With all the wildfires going on in Colorado right now I just want to say thank you to all the hardworking fire fighters battling the wildfires. There are 3 fires near my hometown Durango, 2 fires near Colorado Springs were i live now and of course the big fire near Ft. Collins. Be safe everyone and lets pray for some rain.
Good thread!! The firefigthers Deserve nothing but the best!! Thanks u guys!!!!
