Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.

I thought I'd share my finished project with you all. These are called stave drums. I built them from curly maple and cherry. The internet is a crazy place we can learn to do just about anything!

The beatings will continue until morale improves....
It took about 4months - I had to wait about a month for the finish to cure before I could buff out a glassy finish Once that was done it took 1 day to assemble
But I took my time. If a piece wasn't quite right, I just redid it. Plus table saws are dangerous - not worth rushing through because I need my fingers to play! It was very fun to build and I get to enjoy them every time I play em

That jerry-rigged dryer you made is pretty cool too.
I bought new heads, but by the time this video was made the heads were no longer considered 'new'
Yeah that dryer really was a must. Otherwise I'd be turning it by hand for 30-40m while the finish dried enough to not run. I got the idea from a major drum manufacturer who has an entire wall of dowels that turn like that. Saw on Youtube
It really is amazing what you can do now that the internet is around. Back in the day you'd either have to apprentice or buy a bunch of books and VHS's and then study like heck.
