Thanks guys (gal?)
It took about 4months - I had to wait about a month for the finish to cure before I could buff out a glassy finish Once that was done it took 1 day to assemble
But I took my time. If a piece wasn't quite right, I just redid it. Plus table saws are dangerous - not worth rushing through because I need my fingers to play! It was very fun to build and I get to enjoy them every time I play emThe beatings will continue until morale improves....

Did you use your old heads or did you use new ones?
Those look and sound quite sick. Nice work. Snare sounds awesome on whatever you start playing at around 13:00
That jerry-rigged dryer you made is pretty cool too.Last edited by theMileHighGuy; 08-15-2012, 05:50 PM.

Yeah that dryer really was a must. Otherwise I'd be turning it by hand for 30-40m while the finish dried enough to not run. I got the idea from a major drum manufacturer who has an entire wall of dowels that turn like that. Saw on Youtube
It really is amazing what you can do now that the internet is around. Back in the day you'd either have to apprentice or buy a bunch of books and VHS's and then study like heck. The beatings will continue until morale improves....
