Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

September is one of my favourite months of the year. I may not have said that when I was going to school/university, but even still, I often reflect back to that time in my life, and often with positive memories. Of course it was always exciting seeing those cute girls, either as returnees, or as new students. I digress!
I could go on, but here are some reasons why:
- I love the weather. The days are still quite warm (and seemingly getting warmer of late), but the nights are a little fresher, making for good sleeping weather, and a nice kick start in the early morning.......in anticipation of another great day ahead.
- I love when the leaves start to change, and the colours impress as you venture out on a country road, in search of nothing particular, other than the splendour of early autumn.
- I love being able to play golf, or go for a nice vacation not too far away, knowing that the summer rush is done, and it will be a more leisurely time to enjoy......and yes, usually at a cheaper rate!
- I love NFL football!!! And this year is looking very, very good!
- I love NHL hockey, which usually translates to camp starting up, BUT it doesn't look good right now.....(I can wait this time)
- I love the harvest season........and September is usually a real push around here to finish the job. Many of our folks will do well this year.... hopefully it will go better than expected for the unfortunate ones here and south of the border. For me, the harvest represents a vital aspect of our lives.
- I love the smells of early autumn, which are accentuated by the crispness in the air, the fallen leaves, and the chance of some very warm weather that can ignite the aroma even moreso.
- I love the memories of my children going back to school. Though they are far beyond those school days, I cherish those times....as they grew in so many ways, while making new friends.
- I even love putting on an extra layer some evenings.....yes, even if it's the occasional "hoodie"
I bump thee, because I love thee!!!
Today brings in the newest September (ever!!)...and we are starting off with yet another beautiful day!! Temperature is just right. Football is coming so fast....and hockey not far behind!
Even though Spring is really the season of "new beginnings", new growth, Fall has always felt more like that because of new school years starting then, and football seasons, so it has more of the feeling of excitement and making a fresh start, and I love that!

you silly dog, I think there's more to what you say that what you are saying....it's also the beginning of the year to make new school "acquaintances"....wink wink:thumb:

Yeah not making those lately...
Today I'm reminded of one thing that I don't like too much in September -- the crazy temperature change! It's really cold in the morning yet still gets quite hot in the afternoon, and when I was a kid, I got in trouble a lot because of this! I left my jackets (eventually all of them!) at school as it was just too friggin' hot to wear them home so they were unneeded and easily forgotten, then I'd have nothing the next morning when it was freezing!
Now I guess I need to start wearing peelable layers when I'm out and about.
We are finally getting some fall weather... high of 74 today. I LOVE it!!!
You see, this is part of the love of autumn. Once you get accustomed to lower temps, you will find that days that were once mild or even a bit cooler than that, now feel warm! And matching that feeling, with changing colours of the spectrum, and certain unique aromas that all blend together this time of year, and the excitement of more vibrancy with folks all back in motion (from vacations), it all works together to give me a boast. And heck, we've talked about the new football season, the ensuing hockey and basketball seasons as well, even the new tv shows. It's just a good time for me.:thumb:
Beautiful September day for a walk in the park with the dog. Love the park, with all its creatures, haha, even including the people kind. Almost everyone says "hi", but I suspect the dog is mostly why. Haven't seen as many deer of late, though one larger deer ran in full view last night, through the parking lot. Amazing seeing those lovely animals fly by, with the sound of their hooves bouncing off the lot.
So many memories as we pass by the river, the not too distant site from our team's paddling successes for many years. And then I see The University across the water, where I attended back in the day. All so close and so memorable.
Good times. Family doing good. Friends as well. The Blue Jays are scoring runs like it's little league, The NFL has begun (and The Broncos are undefeated), and The NHL/NBA are not too far away.
These walks make me realize how fortunate I am, and I love that I will return to a nice place, to the aromas of rich coffee and yes, the fresh bread that my wonderful lady has prepared.
