  • Met an ex nfler on the road

Hey, its slow and I thought this was kinda cool so I'm sharing it. I stay at hotels all the time for work. I am currently staying at one where a indoor football league team is staying. When I get a chance I talk to some of the guys. Been meaning to go to game but I'm never off when they are playing. Anyway, turns out one of the guys is a former Eagle. I guess he played for the Eagles in 09. He hurt his back and has been out of the league but is trying to work his way back in. When I got to talk to him he had just gotten off the phone with a team from Jacksonville, I beleive it was their Arena team and I think he is headed there. Guy was really nice, hard to understand cause he has a bad stuttering problem but super nice guy and huge. I'm guessing about 6-4 and over 300. He has a tiny girlfriend/wife, I'm guessing 4-11. They look interesting together. Both were extremely nice. I didn't get to talk to him long because we were both headed in the opposite direction. But if I get a chance I will again. I really want to ask about Reid and how he is behind close doors. Anyway, I know its not exactly earth shattering news, but I thought I'd share while its slow.

Man, it MUST be slow. No replies yet.

It has always amazed me standing near a high level athlete like that just becasue of how BIG they are. Most of them are huge, which you know, but don't realize until you're right next to them.

Jacksonville Sharks is probably the team he was talking to.

Just saw him again in passing. Guess I should mention his name is Anthony Dixon. He said coach Reid was very cool to all the guys. Treated them well and fed them very well. Cool. I will think of another question to ask him when I see him next

Yeah he is a big guy. My hand just about disappeared when shaking his lol. But he is very down to earth and very nice. He seems to like to talk, very friendly.

If you have a question ready, that's not stalking, right?

That's cool. I've never seen (off the field) or met a football player. Some NASCAR drivers, but no players. Living between two NFL teams, it seems that I would have more of a chance. I guess I just don't hang around the right places.
