Hate masks personal insecurities. Not all insecure people are haters, but all haters are insecure people. Hate elevates the hater above the hated. Haters cannot stop hating without exposing their personal insecurities. Haters can only stop hating when they face their insecurities.

Haters rarely hate alone. They feel compelled, almost driven, to entreat others to hate as they do. Peer validation bolsters a sense of self-worth and, at the same time, prevents introspection, which reveals personal insecurities. Individuals who are otherwise ineffective become empowered when they join groups, which also provide anonymity and diminished accountability.

Hate, by its nature, changes incrementally. Time cools the fire of hate, thus forcing the hater to look inward. To avoid introspection, haters use ever-increasing degrees of rhetoric and violence to maintain high levels of agitation.

The ultimate goal of haters is to destroy the object of their hate. Mastery over life and death of ones image imbues the hater with godlike power and omnipotence, which, in turn, facilitate further acts of aggression. With this power comes a great sense of self-worth and value, the very qualities haters lack. However, in reality, hate physically and psychologically destroys both the hater and the hated.

On a more serious note for the OP and original purpose of thread. I could not get past first line written. I vehemently disagree. Whoever the original person who said this was has obviously never lost a loved one to the hands of another human being. Unless your name is Jesus, I guarantee that will bring hate with it. In fact in some instances the most secure and strong people are the ones who can keep themselves from acting upon that hate.

The author of the piece that started this thread is Dr Jack Schafer. He's a retired FBI behavioral analyst (a profiler); he made his living doing third-hand analysis of what may have caused other people's miseries. The article is from 2011 and, while Schafer's dissertation on "hate" may have been true for the purposes of a profiler back then, much has changed in psychology and psychiatry over the past 5 years. A lot of his theoretical presentation has been overtaken by time and advances in understanding of how the human brain works (or doesn't work). It's not something I'd hang my hat on today. I doubt many of today's profilers would hang their hats on it, either.

..... or when certain "public servant" bodies talk about fixing things, but nothing gets fixed? If hot air makes balloons rise into the sky, why aren't the world's politicians airborne?
