Yes, but when you are that cute, at least she was, you can get away with it!

My sister is a sweetheart, but whenever we get together for a restaurant meal, she turns into a royal pain with her food. She will often send things back, which by the way, could end up being a bad outcome for her....if you get my drift. I am fussy, but few times in my life have I sent food back. Maybe to heat it up a little. I appreciate that you have that right, but my goodness, almost every time we go out......"what's wrong this time?"

Oh I know I was in love with Meg Ryan! And I've had picky gf's...

Your sister just needs to give more detailed instructions from the outset, and if she has some general preferences about food preparation, those can be typed up and a copy of that list handed to waiters each time!

Yes, I too was in love with Meg!!! I was thinking about going to the top of The Empire State Building to see if she was waiting for me.....

As for my sis. I think you know that I am not a youngin, and given my sister is over 5 years older than me....well, not supposed to reveal a woman's age, right! In other words, she is not going to change. HOWEVER, and here's the sad part, she is very specific when she orders!!! She just never seems to love what she ends up with. But it's funny, because she is very good person, friendly, caring, and not too assertive.....UNTIL (play the horror music) she goes out for a meal!!!!

Wow, perhaps its time to bail from going out to eat altogether and let her stay home and cook it up just the way she likes it! Maybe with a helpful prepcook! <AHEM!>

Yes.....truth is we live far apart, so we only get to meet once a year at most.....and each time I actually look forward to seeing her "in action". It's become something humorous in our family. Now to be fair, as I think about it a little more, she has gone a few meals without sending back. When that happens, it's like the headliner for the show could not perform....

I've only complained about one meal. Back in October, I had gone to the ER, got admitted for overnight observation. They call me to get my lunch order. She mentioned soup. I said that I was a vegetarian. She assured me that it was vegetarian vegetable soup. When I got it, it had a couple of pieces of beef floating in it. That and the gelatin for a vegetarian meal? When they came for the tray, I did point it out to the lady. For dinner, I went for the fruit plate.

Hospital is like a restaurant, right?

When our last daughter was born I was reminded that the hotel, er, hospital only provided meals for mom. Fine. I expected that.

Finding the cafeteria was was immediately struck by how modern and non-cafeteria like it looked. And the smells? Oh my. I ordered something, took it back to the room where my wife was inspecting her food. She looked up with one of those looks

Seems the food for patients was less than desirable.

From then on we bought both our meals and only kept the fruit from her provided meal.

                  Take that hospital

Good ole hospital food. This is not a negative hospital experience, but it is the one that I will never forget. I think I posted this one before. Last year I had a colonoscopy. I had to drink that awful Colyte, all 4 liters, which you have to down fairly quickly. It gave me serious nausea, and overnight I was suffering with coldness, and headaches. Apparently this stuff can work against you, but alas, is required to clean you out. Anyway, made it through the morning procedure, and when I was returned to the waiting area, the nurse asked if I wanted something to eat......like toast and coffee. I will never, ever forget how good that simple meal of toast with jam, and coffee tasted! It was the best toast for sure, in my life. It immediately made me feel a lot better. The fact that they gave me a "you're ok" :thumb:, right after I returned to the room, was pretty good too!
