The only woman to ever have seen her husband and son become President.

I know it's not relevant to the topic, but so did Abigail Smith

No, I was wrong. She died 7 years before her son became president. Yes, she was a great lady & she will be missed

To me, Mrs. Bush was the spirit of the 1990's and her passing left me with a void. I was quite touched watching her tributes as I remember her never being at the forefront, but more of a strong presence in whatever room she was in. I was saddened by this news and was thankful for the memories I had of her.

Living up to 92-years old. Really that is a rarity in itself. And even more of a rarity is 73 years of marriage. Talk about love and loyalty through thick and thin and mountains and valleys. That is how a First Lady should be. Low key but supportive. But also that other First Ladies before and after her should learn from her. May she RIP!
