I drink about a pint before I have my coffee and then I take a quart bottle to work with me and try to empty it twice while I’m at work.

My posture at work doesn’t help (looking at computer monitors 9-10 hours a day). The chiropractor really helps because my spine gets subluxation in my upper back and neck which causes the muscles to tense up.

me too, I'm sure my posture isn't much better... I have a desk job too, starting at computer monitors all day....

I usually try to drink about 8 to 10 20 oz bottles of water a day.... I always notice a huge difference in how I feel, when I go a couple days with a lower water intake... I think it probably does make a difference, as you mentioned.

If your wallet isn't being kind, check your workplace and ask if they have a nurse that can check it for you. If you start to get a migraine, check your blood pressure as soon as it comes on to see if there's any drastic change. It could be the cause.

I used to have chronic high blood pressure without knowing it. Once I found out a few years ago, I started taking medicine daily for it. It took a couple of years, but I've noticed a few weeks ago that my severe "stay in bed for a day or two" migraines are virtually gone. I haven't had a migraine sick day for a while and I used to get 10--20 a year. I still get chronic headaches and some of them are severe, but they're not migraines and I KNOW it's from stress. And if I do get something close to a migraine, coffee and/or Tylenol + sleep usually knocks it out. Also with those headaches, my blood pressure is elevated.

Now my blood pressure has been great to the point where the doctor cut my dose in half and said that if I continue on the path, he'll take me off of it for good. A good diet plus exercising 3-6 days a week has helped tremendously. And I lost 20 pounds over that 3+ year period. I'm not a heavy person but I was carrying 25 more pounds than when I was an athlete and much more active. Hope all of this helps.
That is awesome, DS!! Love reading that your migraines are mostly gone! Great advice ... I know so many on this thread have mentioned the cause of theirs being high blood pressure.

I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum, super low blood pressure, so they always got to be careful with how they treat mine in order to avoid lowering it any further. Sure mine will pass when I hit menopause.... so many different causes, but seems a vast majority from this thread is high blood pressure.

I can not compare, though I do have a history of some form of migraines. Fortunately, not often lengthy. But still, I know the feeling of what a really bad headache can do. So I empathize with anyone who suffers more so than I do.

My pleasure! I have a real empathy for migraine sufferers. I am not in the same place as some of you, but when I suffer them, I understand what others must be going though....and probably much worse. It's good that folks share their collective knowledge, even if it does not work for others. Sooner or later it helps speed up the process of finding solutions.

Let's go to Times Square on New Years Eve, they said.

              It'll be fun, they said.

Let's leave early so we can get a good spot and stand there (they said) over 15 hours??? (I said)

I have avoided Times Square on New Years Eve for decades. I caved in and decided to give it a try to ring in 2020. Worst mistake of my life. Was it incredible? Yes. Was it worth it? NO!

It was wet. Not sure if it was pee, alcohol, both or a more disgusting 4th option.

                        • So quick story, I was walking to get lunch with a few coworkers and I passed a few people and thought one of them was... nah that can't be him. I couldn't see fully because I was within a chatty crowd deciding if we should go to A or B, and plus no one else noticed. I didn't think twice of it until I saw this video pop up today. This interview happened next door to one of my offices and I missed a chance to meet him. I'm still not sure it was him though because it looked like a clone haha. Then again, I see celebrities walk in and out of my building at least 3 days a week. Mostly sports figures.

@1:48 he talks about his career with migraines and what he uses now, as well as other things going on with him now. Enjoy.

And in typical Raiders fashion, TD blew right by you and you barely noticed you missed your opportunity

That's actually a pretty cool story and TD's history with migraines is well known.

What I really want to know is what was for lunch. Did your choose A over B and then regretted it? Important questions!!

I was Rolando McClain pretty much.

We ate at a place called Dig Inn. I think it's only in New York, or at least just the east coast. I regretted the decision because of the $$$ spent but it was sooooooooooooooo gooooooooooooood.

                              • These things still suck so bad. The dosage to my imitrex was increased a while back and I was given something for the nausea which helps quite a bit. They were getting better for a long time, but the last 3 months have been rough because they keep returning. Not sure if it's stress or a food trigger or both.

Went to bed early last night to be prepared for today - because I wanted to be alert and focused and instead was up from midnight to about 4 am, alternating between heat and ice. It's eased enough that I'm good to go now, so guess the medicine helps. But migraines suck so bad.

What I've noticed recently is I get one every time I eat something with Peanut Butter. I did not have any Peanut Butter yesterday, but I'm just figuring out that appears to be a trigger - I live off peanut butter, now like pop tarts and red wine - looks like I have to give it up.
