I like Toronto. Have family there. I did not always love Toronto. But I've visited it many, many times over a period of 40+ years. And each time I go, it seems I like it better.
Part of the reason....the food scene is really good. Sure they have chains, like every city, but they also have loads of family owned restaurants....and lots of ethnic choices.
So each time we go, we get another restaurant or two under our belts, and they are usually worth the trip!

Making me hungry.....we go to a great tourist area once in a while, called Riding Mountain National Park, which includes the beautiful Clear Lake. They have some pretty good restaurants in the main town - Wasagaming, including a wonderful Italian food spot named TR McKoy's. Love the food there!! But Wasagaming's claim to fame eatery is The White House Bakery and Restaurant, mainly because of their Cinnamon Buns. They make hundreds a day, and I am sure they are all gone at closing time. You can smell them as you walk up the road, towards the place. BUT, I do love that Italian food as well!!

Oh yeah, almost forgot, Charlies in Gage Oklahoma. Gage is a wide spot in the road. Charles is a dive. The ribeyes are to die for!

Based on the title of this thread, I am wondering if some of you were thinking this was a "road kill" related thread. Seems as though some folks like to prepare such delicacies under the hood, while driving to and from. In fact, hunt, cook and drive.....not my thing, but hey, fits the theme I suppose.:thumb:

Think I mentioned somewhere, maybe not, but there's a wonderful restaurant/furniture & clothing store/wedding site/keeper of some farm type animals, just outside the city. Called Pine Ridge Hollow and is attached to one of our big park areas, as well as some wonderful rural properties. It's an easy, short drive, and the food is fantastic! And you can wander around in the building for some interesting purchases....though a bit more higher end in terms of style/price. We actually bought a painting after we ate there once.
I love their lemon ricotta pancakes!!! Had them yesterday. But they have many excellent menu choices throughout the day!!Last edited by CanDB; 10-24-2019, 01:12 PM.

Lucias Mexican restaurant Laverne Okiehoma..... The queso alone makes it worth the drive. I'll rate the red Chile pork here in a bit.....Last edited by Saddletramp; 09-26-2019, 11:34 AM.

Not a road trip, but it could be if I preferred to get there at a more leisurely pace. But planning a trip and making sure we can get reservations at a specific restaurant in the city we will stay in for a couple of days. The logistics of travel often include multiple details, including flight/hotel availability, tickets for specific events, and for sure, even restaurant reservations....given that good ones can be booked months in advance.
Now back to "the plan".

Awesome food, really nice decor, and what I am assuming is an excellent wine list.... Now guys...dont freak out when you go to the rest room and there is a woman in the crapper stall, you'll get used to her presence.... I kid you not....
