  • 176 Lost In Horrendous Plane Crash

Lets just dwell on the tragic and the sad, that 176 people died in a plane "crash" flying from Tehran to Toronto yesterday. I don't have details for other countries, but among the lost souls were 63 Canadians.

Bless all those innocent people who lost their lives.

RIP to all of the people. What a tragic situation. Ordinary people caught in the middle of a 'mine is bigger' contest.

    RIP.

The best case scenario, which is not going to help any of these individuals or their family and friends....this was unintentional. If you see the video, odds are extremely unlikely. Thorough investigation is owed these innocent people so that those involved be held responsible...as in any such tragedy, accident or not.

The western leaders are all referring to it as an apparent accident, but a Ukranian jet flying out of Tehran ful of western citizens??? I don’t buy it. That’s the way Iran operates. They’ve been the greatest sponsor of terror in the world in the last 20 years.

Check the video....it's a special missile that does not crash into the plane, but blows up beside it....or as many expect, just in front of it. It can easily be detected with ground search, because it is loaded with shrapnel, meant to tear things apart. Even if it is an accident, it is completely irresponsible, and answers must be provided. And given the odds, it appears that yes, lives were lost in this dispute. It appears to be an act of war.

But again, this thread is about lost lives. People should care, because it could have been almost anyone (other than it was a locational incident). Innocent folks were lost.

I don't buy it either. Iran has one of the most sophisticated air defense systems in the world (they basically use the same radar and missiles that Russia uses or used). They've got over 100 fighters and reconnaissance planes. So immediately after you fire ballistic missiles onto a base in another country, "intentionally" inflicting zero casualties, I don't see how you accidentally shoot down a commercial airliner leaving your own airspace. I'm not going to speculate any farther on what might've happened, because the whole things has stunk from the very start, and a lot of people just got killed over it.

Sometimes when I read about casualties in life, whether it be a plane crash, a terrible storm, disease or whatever...I sometimes feel a bit callous afterward, likely because I do not know who they are, or because they are from a different place. Then I think, imagine if that happened "close to home", and I knew the people, and their families and friends. And then it hits home, every tragedy or loss is most likely to be very painful for many good people. Their pain is worthy of my respect and feelings.

US officials stated today that it is apparent that the plane was shot down by the Iranian military.

If so, it's an act of war....and there goes the theory that no lives were affected by the dispute.

This is a significant concern, and must be addressed by all parties involved.

Again, 176 innocent people lost, along with extreme grief for all those who knew them. Why do the innocent have to pay?

By all accounts from everything I've read, US and UK intelligence places Iran squarely responsible for launching the missile that took down this flight. Whether intentional or just extreme negligence (with firing a barrage of missiles into a foreign country) has yet to be determined.

Sad loss of completely innocent life.
                    To infinity...and beyond.

That's why this needs a complete investigation and as swiftly as possible, before things get "rearranged". As some experts have stated, the ground investigation will uncover the details required to confirm much of the puzzle. My question...if an act of war, what is the next step? No military lives affected....thankfully. But lots of innocent civilians lost. This is troubling in so many ways.

I'm sorry the thread got closed, but unfortunately, it went too political.

                        Thanks for understanding.

Thoughts and prayers to the friends and families of the lost lives.
