My trust in vaccines goes as follows. Every day I read/listen to multiple sources of covid info. Some yes from CNN, but also our local news, national news and some international news. FTR, I have a lot of respect for our local medical experts, who seem very, very educated and on top of the most current covid related info. Last I saw, the most prominent local medical experts are clearly supported by about 80% of our population, which is pretty high given the ups and downs of the last year and half, plus the usual negativity towards people in those jobs. Anyway....unless every one of them, with their different backgrounds and mindsets and reporting structures is in lockstep, and as some here may try to conclude - in a cover up of some sort, I am not sure where the controversy lies. In every different source I follow, vaccines are clearly dealing with covid-19 and variants, with superior results.
If folks want to take aim at vaccines (masks, etc.), and of course look for sources that support them (and there certainly are many), that's fine. But if I am betting on my life, I go vaccines, no matter my age or health situation. And as I've beaten to death (for some), if I care about the staff and resources related to our hospitals, and patients who are being postponed from assessment/treatments/surgeries because of the hospital backlogs, I absolutely go vaccination....twice. I am sure folks can cherry pick the info they want to support their case, but the vaccination results are beyond cherry picking and such. They are overwhelmingly conclusive. In my province we are now about 80% one shot vaccinated and 70% fully vaccinated, and rising, and our cases are getting closer and closer to some normalcy. I keep my fingers crossed of course, because who knows what's around the corner. But the trends / causes are almost undeniable.
