Hope all those who are planning weddings and sadly, funerals, can proceed as normally as possible.
I am going to be optimistic and suggest that grads might have some chance.
These are important events in the lives of so many. Some will go ahead, with less people involved. Some things can be rescheduled. Lets keep the light on, and our fingers crossed.

As for economics....I do like the idea of pushing hard cash out to as many folks as possible, sooner than later. People need to pay their bills and spend as need be. Not sure how far you go with that type of support, but many experts like the concept...and it's been done before.
You push hard through the toughest part, and some money in your pocket not only takes care of basics, but gives folks some dignity. Plus it can stimulate a quicker return to financial stability.

Further to....these events can sure change lives. My daughter has an American bf, and now they have to be very prudent on how they see each other. He's not too far from her, by car, but it does present challenges, in many ways. I told her absence (if necessary) makes the heart grow fonder, but that is still not what you want to hear. Great guy! They will get thru this, like we all will.
But the good news, if this happened a few decades ago, minus social media and the like, communication would be so limited vs today.
And I can take you back to my early days....when, beside that old fashioned black phone sitting in the middle of the house, we had this other speedy form of interaction...….letters.

I’m ok with the disappointment; I’m just not looking forward to telling my 12 year old daughter we’re not going after she pleaded with me for 3 weeks to sign up for this trip. She’s probably going to cry...ugh, it breaks my heart when she cries.
It sucks that everything is getting cancelled though, I get it. I really wanted to go to a concert I've been looking forward to for the whole year and it's getting shut down now, I had vip passes and everything. But it's better safe than sorry with this thing.sigpic

That's probably not what you meant. It did make me smile, so that is a positive, right?
I do avoid him when I can, but sometimes his is the only one open. I've never said anything to him, but with the virus, I might. I would be my most polite self and say "please" and "thank you".
Maybe don't be a selfish profiteering jerk next time when a major crisis is going down?sigpic

Here's a case of positive news, though overseas...
Per Michele Steele:
South Korea has aggressively tested cases of COVID-19 and won praise for its handling of the pandemic. The country's basketball league now has games scheduled at the end of this month after a 4-week long hiatus.

Then on the other side of that, my job is far from secure, my bosses are extremely paranoid at the moment and if you are caught coughing too much, they'll send you home. My spring time allergies are in full effect... I don't have enough in savings to survive this, the move here and not being able to find a job for 3 months really destroyed my savings account.sigpic
