I love my DS. But anyways, the PSP is about as graphically powerful as a half-way point between the PS1 and PS2. But here, my long winded reasoning why you shouldn't buy the PSP. Er-hem.
The PSP is, by definition, a small PS2. PSP = PlayStation Portable. Now the PSP's core of games are made almost entirely of titles from their PS and PS2. "But EMCF, Mario is always on new Nintendo systems, and it is on the DS!!!!!!!111" Shut up, you know nothing. Sure Nintendo makes sequels to it's popular games, like any other company. But when they do it is (a) either a sequel on the same system, so it uses the same gameplay and graphics. (b) A sequel on a new system that uses all new graphics and/or gameplay.
Then we come to the PSP. Remember how we said the PSP = PS2? Keep that in mind. What if, say, Nintendo came out with a new system. It has a small screen that you had to play on, a small battery life and it had the exact same capabilities as the Gamecube. Would you be dumb enough to buy it? It's absolutely retarded to put it on the PSP and force people to buy a new, system for 200 dollars that is basically the same thing as the PS2. "But littler".
"but EmCF it is teh portables!1!!!!11". Maybe if you like playing Majhong, or scratching your ass with it. It's fine for use around the house, you can plug it in etc. BUT YOU CAN BUY A PS2 FOR CHEAPER, WITH A BIG SCREEN, THE SAME GAMES, AND PLAY AS LONG AS YOU WANT. Portable really comes into play on road trips and plane rides. Unless your plane ride is the 3:35 from Manhatten to Rochester, or your road trip is down to Wal-Mart you are going to need to weigh yourself down with several extra batteries. Retarded. Be smart people, don't buy a PSP.
The DS, while not having the same graphic power as the PSP, has all new interface, and offers something new. The touchscreen is awesome, makes FPS' really smooth like a mouse pad. Not to mention the wireless chat using the stylus. The PSP is a money grab, it offers nothing the PS2 doesn't. Except the PS2 has slightly better graphics, and costs a hell of a lot less.Last edited by EMCF; 02-14-2005, 08:42 PM.

I hate it when people say "OMG YOU GETTING THE PSP? BUT THAT SUXORZ". When it didn't even hit shelves, yet. I'm pretty sure you didn't get one, and neither did I. that's why I want one. For the main purpose of being known as one of the only 7 people that actually bought it.sigpic

I think Ill save my money and wait for the ps3.. which will probably be 300 bucks to start? I have seen some graphics of the ps3 that look pretty sick, and they are going to show more at e3 this year. I think the psp would be worth it if you travel a lot though... or don't have access to a tv or something.R.I.P. Darrent Williams
