Paper Girl, on foot for a year and a half for a Colorado Springs paper. Loved the early morning hours so peaceful and quiet...didn't care too much for chinook winds and 5 ft. snow drifts though And lonnnnnnnng driveways with no lighting ....and people who wouldn't pay their bill.....
Actually there is a cute movie about a kid who has a paper route but I can't think of the name of it right now.

My first real job was as a cook/dishwasher at a summer camp. It was really cool. I had lots of time to goof off and stuff!

I unloaded hay wagons on a dairy farm...$5 an hour off the books...because of my height and understanding of gravity, I became one of the best...I used to bury entire families, in the hay mound...they called me "Ming the Merciless"...13 bales end to end for 20 minutes straight..
I've walked these streets, a loaded six-string on my back, I play for keeps 'cause I might not make it back, I've been everywhere still I'm standin' tall, I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all!!:salute!:

I think its called the Paper Brigade..LOL..Its a Disney movie I believe..

But my first job was this lawn maintenance job for this guy I knew..A few of my buddies and I got hired and we would mow, and rake, and water and blah blah blah..Every Thursday afternoon during the summer, when it was like 80 degrees..Which is really super hot for Alaska..We got paid in cash at the end of the summer..We each got 400$, which wasnt bad for a 7th grader! LOL...And now, I just applied at Bells Nursery, which is a flower place..Minimum wage..But I need some money! LOL..Then this summer if I dont go out of state for wrestling then I am going to work as a fisherman for the summer..Which is SUPER hard work, and I will be away for home for 3 months... but my friend did it last year and he made 16,000 dollars in 4 months! Not to bad, if you ask me..And his cousin made 45,000 dollars a few years back! But it depends on how much fish you catch..So if you get a bad catch..Then your kinda screwed..LOL...

I got my first job the summer after I turned 16. I worked in the concession stand of Cinemark's Tinseltown in Colorado Springs. I ended up working there for three years doing time in all the departments, concessions, usher, projection and box office. I loved it. It was a blast there were always cute girls at the theater and I got all the free movies I wanted.

My first job (other than the obligatory paper route) lasted about 25 minutes. I got a job at a shoe store next to my high school. I walked in my first day and was greeted by a truckload of shoes that had been just dropped off. The manager said: There are the shelves - put them all away. He gave me no guidance, nor any help on how to find size, brand, etc, even after I asked him several times. I found the proper slots for about 3 pairs of shoes in 25 minutes and with 600 more pairs to go, I decided that I'd had enough. I told the manager that since he was the only one who should know where they go, he should do it himself. I got to take about 3 steps before he collected himself and realized I was really leaving. He started yapping something about how he'll ruin me if I left and that I'd better get back to the stockroom and finish the job or else, and I'm an SOB/little punk/smartass, etc. Just listening to him lose his cool was worth the $1.50 or so I missed out on collecting because I never went back in there. (Amazing that minimum wage was $3/hr when I started working.
