    I like both a lot...my family has a cat, so i'm biased in that regard..but i'd love a dog too!...I can't pick

I will say though, to those who think cats are lazy or what not...i think cats have more of a personality..soem can be very lazy..but others offer just as much companionship as a dog...when i walk in my house at 5 from work..my cat comes running to the door, he follows me aroudn the house, and he'll sit in whatever room i'm sitting in..sure he sleeps a lot, but you know what...cats are VERY VERY stress-relieving..as i'm sure dogs are too...but lets be honest, sometimes dogs are a lil TOO hyper.

The big cats are great. I love watching nature documentaries about big cats especially Tigers, Jaguars and Cheetahs. They're such awesome beautiful beasts.
Domestic cats I don't care for that much. I hate it when they poo in my garden although I'd rather come face to face with them than their wild cousins!

Dogs I love. We have half a dozen sheepdog puppies right now. They're a real chocolate box assortment of a litter. A couple are actually chocolate and white (quite unusual for sheepdogs) another two predominantly white with just one or two black facial patches and the other two are your usual looking sheepdogs. (shoot -I shouldn't have mentioned sheep. I'm in danger of being bombarded by sheep jokes again from my "friend" across the border!)

Anyway it's a very good thing I prefer dogs to cats - my Dad once shot my mum's cat because she was lavishing too much attention on her pet and not on him!
(I hope there are no animal rights activists here! If there are you'll be glad to know he hasn't held a gun licence for the past 25 years and we now have a thriving population of cat's in the the neighbourhood! YUCK MORE CAT POO)

I'm sure I would feel differently about cats if there were a large stray population of them where i live..but we rarely see a stray cat.
Gosh, that reminds me of rome..there were cats all over the place, esp. around the forum!

Anybody out there have more than 5 cats or dogs? I always like to tell the story about when I left home. I was the youngest child. When I left, my mom acquired 4 more dogs, 2 cows, a bunch of pigs and some chickens. I would be priceless in India...
I've walked these streets, a loaded six-string on my back, I play for keeps 'cause I might not make it back, I've been everywhere still I'm standin' tall, I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all!!:salute!:
