Dont know where this really belongs... so I figure Ill post it here, and if it gets moved, so be it.

The closer I have gotten to football starting (school) the less I have been lookin forward to it. I know perfectly well that I will be stuck playing defensive line this year, and I just, I dont really want to. I am too small to play defensive tackle, I would bust my butt last year and end up being bruised to heck, going against guys taht outweighed me by bout 40-60 lbs. Also, I was much faster than our Middle Linebacker, but yet, when I do something really good, I get absolutedly no credit for it, I mean one of the real pri-ks on the team spent a day in practice trying to hurt me, and the coach dint do crap.

    I donno....

I can't say for football, because I never played, but I saw stuff like this happen all too often in hockey, guys not having fun, because of other A-holes. What grade are you in? Will you have a different coach or be going to a different school after this coming season? Sounds like your coach is a useless bastard, depending on how old you are, i don't think it's out of the question to take a year off, and wait until you can play for a new coach who actually knows what he's doing. Look at Ben Rothlisberger, he had to play tight end all through high school because his coach was an idiot and insisted on having his son play QB. So if it was just the stupid coach, i'd suggest taking your lumps at DT, until they see you're too good not to have at LB. As far as that guy trying to hurt you, that's retarded, if the coach isn't going to anything about that, don't play for him. Just train your butt off and wait until you can play for a real coach i guess.

I like my defensive tackles like I like my women: well over 300 lbs.

The only way that your going to get the attention of your coach is to make plays...

Use that speed MoFo...become Bad MoFo...make them know who you are...

And as far as that guy trying to hurt you...chances are, he doesn't shower with the other boys due to certain physical inadequacies... ..If you know that he'll be gunning for you, make it your mission to bring it to him...

I haven't always been a big guy, MoFo...when I played football as a Freshmen, they picked on me too...and then, last year I went to our Head Coach's final game and I got plenty of satisfaction out of the fact that all of those God-like Seniors looked like little old men compared to me...
I've walked these streets, a loaded six-string on my back, I play for keeps 'cause I might not make it back, I've been everywhere still I'm standin' tall, I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all!!:salute!:

My advise is to nut up, and go out there and play to win. Hit them harder then they hit you. Look how our O=line has been on of the smallest in the league, but look what they did for TD

Well, lets see, I played Dt last year as a freshman, played in 7 games, and was third on the team in tackles, often i had to go through the LOS, the rb would run round it, i would break back through the LOS and make the tackle

Edit: just for the record, in those 7 games I got 66 tackles, while the only linebacker close to that was our runnin back/linebacker who prolly had about 80, though he screwed up alot, blitzin when he wasnt sposed to, cost a lot of big plays

If you are that good, then play.

I played cornerback last year, had 26 tackles, 3 interceptions, 1 returned for a touchdown. I always wanted to play cornerback, but the coach moved be to SS this year. Am I going to cry about it? No, i'm just going to keep playing hard, and doing my thing.

All i'm saying is, just go out there, give 100%. If you don't get recognition now because of it. You will later.

Last year we had 55 people on our team, and a terrible head coach who played the same 11 players both ways. Since he only used 11 players, he only practiced 11 players. Our practices consisted mostly of spitting contests and other wastes of time. I mean, after our coach picked his starting 11, he didn't even LOOK at the other players. None of us had any chance to earn our spot.

But, this year I have a new coach (the old one got fired ) and I hope to get a spot on the starting lineup. Maybe all Freshman coaches in MI are terrible?
There's more to life than the Denver Broncos. Let me know when you find it.

That's why I don't wanna play next year. I'm not exactly built like Ray Lewis.

All they care about where I live is names. If you don't have the right last name, you don't play.

                    Exactly.

Most organized sports at that level usually require a little bit more than athleticism, at least that I have noticed. Ask your coach if he can move you around a bit. Ask to play both DE, LB, DT etc. Make yourself applicable to the situations at hand. Play on special teams, if you already don't. Showcase yourself as much as possible.

I already do, I have been told I am too big to play LB, whereas I am 5'9 180, and faster than our lb from last year.....

ya i was the same ive gone through this my whole football career

1st season-they put at c what? i didnt even weigh 100 Pounds yet but i get stuck with the o-line job

2nd season-move up to higher league want to put me at C too luckily went on vaction and a guy stole the spot but of course i got stuck playing TE

3rd season-played TE the whole year and didnt catch a f-in ball but i also started at DE and got a bunch of sacks so it was fun

4th season-TE whole season agin can someone explain htis to me i was lik 4-11 and 90 pounds not the TE type

5th season-went to a whole new team so i wouldnt get stuck with stubid positions year started out good in practice i played RB then they move me to a new position and youll never guess this one TE again and still havent caught a fricken pass

but now im going to play on high school and will likely play WR so its all kool
