Board Games

About a month ago I got out the old Monopoly set to play with a young relative.
I nearly fell asleep playing it. It wasn't half as much fun as I remembered it.
My brother and I used to play it all the time as kids. In fact we loved allsorts of board games and used to get a new one every Christmas. Amongst our favourites were Cluedo, Risk, Go for Broke and we also played games like Battleship, Connect Four and Ker-Plunk.

Apart from the "Monopoly incident" I hardly ever play any board games now although I still enjoy the occassional game of Chess and the pack of cards always comes out around Christmas!

Do/did you ever enjoy playing board games. If so do you have any particular favourites or games you can't stand?

There's a board game called "Sequence" you play with cards that pretty good.....I find that clear vision helps with this game( liquor seems to displaced them somewhere else.)...........also "UNO" and another card game "SKIPBO".....

I'll have to check those out - well maybe the last two at least - I don't want anything that's too taxing on the brain!

At my house, we have a Scrabble crown...I made a crown out of construction paper....(To fit my own head)...
I am downright viscious at Scrabble...

The wife won't even play me anymore....I'm like 30-1 versus her...and the one that she beat me on was on the lastplay of the game...

My little sister loves Monopoly. Other than that we play Trivial Pursuit, Scene It, Cranium, Rumikub, and card games.

It's fun. We have a good time. We try and make sure we spread the winning around. We don't really play to win. We play to chat and drink and tell jokes and stuff.

I forgot about Trivial Pursuit. I used to play that a lot when it had just come out - the family version - which had two levels of difficulty questions. I was very good at the easier level!

A few months ago we had a monoploy marathon.. started with original monopoly, went to the Startwars monopoly set, than the trilogy set... I stopped them before we opened my NFL set with Denver & GB as Boardwalk & Parkplace... whew!

Other than that used to play Trouble, Aggravation, Perfection, Sorry, Connect four and UNO, which is more card game than board game.

Not a board game, but it's played on a table, my favorite is dominoes. Board games, even though I haven't played in a while I spent whole nights playing Risk and Axis and Allies.

I like Life. I'm always the richest when I play with my siblings. Yeah Monopoly isn't as good as it used to be.

I like the game of Life.

Around Christmas time though, we bring out the Rod Hockey and Electric Football. Can't beat it.

There's this board game called Axis and Allies that me and some other friends bring out on occasion. We're all fans of history so we enjoy the game a lot, not to mention it has more strategic options and tactics then most games.
