  • Mowing the Lawn.

No se.xism here... Is this the past time for men? I live in a neighborhood where the men control the grass. They have these special mowing "gloves", "shoes", and there famous "mower". In my family, my dad does most of it, but I'll do it sometiems. But call me crazy, is this just my weird neighborhood, or is it "THE MAN'S JOB"?

Who mows the lawn in your family? Is your neighborhood crazy like mine? Do men take this job to serious?

    Kind of a goofy thread.....

Ugh, I HATE mowing the lawn. My dad and I do all of it ourselves, and it is not something I look forward to. We have a lot of grass that has to be mowed with our two tractors: a '53 Ford and a '58 Ford. They are slow, inefficient, and break down often.

The problem is, I can't use the weed-whacker or mow near trees because I am so allergic to poison ivy. My whole right arm swelled up and blistered the last time I got it.

I mow about 95% of the time. My wife likes to do it every once in a while, and my daughter used to like mowing the field on the little tractor.

            Until she got her car..............

For the most part, Mowing the Lawn is on my list of expectations as Father...

Every now and then, my wife will a little crazy and go mow it...

She's funny though, she'll mow about 1/2 of the backyard and quit...and come in acting like she just saved the world from disease...

I mow the whole thing (back, front and both sides) in one shot...it takes almost 2 hours with my push-mower...I mow it, get a tan in the mean time, and then come in and post on Broncomania for at least an hour before she comes and breaks my stones about being on the computer...
I've walked these streets, a loaded six-string on my back, I play for keeps 'cause I might not make it back, I've been everywhere still I'm standin' tall, I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all!!:salute!:

I cut the grass at my place (2-3 hours), which makes sense cause I'm the only one living at my house.

As a kid I did 90% (about 7 hours) of the mowing. It would have been all of it but my dad enjoyed doing the weed-eating.

                          I need a son!
