Hotdog = weiner + split bun (or like we do in NZ, weiner on a stick dipped in batter and deep fried, I think that might be called a corn dog in the US)

i would classify it on its own......a subspecies of the sandwich if you will
much like the Hamburger.which is technicaly a sandwich but who accually calls it a sandwich

(b) hubbys away for a few days and I cant go to the store (not feeling well) .....
