Car Mod Thread

I recently bought a new car...'03 Hyundai Tiburon GTV6, and have decided to make a few changes to it. This past weekend I took on a project that didn't seem like it would be too hard, but I could easily screw something up and have to pay to fix it.

Well after a little sweat and a few hours of my day, I've finished my first project. I could've paid a few hundred dollars and skipped all the work, but I figured I'd appreciate it more if I did it myself.

So here's the before and after pics. I took out the headlights, baked them in the oven for about 12 minutes (to soften the sealant), pulled them apart, painted some parts, and put them back together leaving certain pieces out...I think they turned out pretty good.

What'cha think?

My next undertaking will be the interior. I'm gonna take out certain pieces and paint them an aluminum color (to match other parts inside the car). Hopefully that will be as easy as the headlights.

Have you ever watched a show on DIY called "Tricked Out"? I saw it a few weeks ago, and it's something you might want to catch if you keep going. Seemed like they had some pretty good tips!

Yeah, it definitely is a great feeling doing work on your car and it turning out nice.

I'm not gonna overdo it when modding my new car, just a few cosmetic things and an upgrade to the stereo. I'm not gonna do anything too crazy with the engine nor am I gonna get a bodykit...just too expensive. I don't even know if I'm gonna get rims.

Lawdog...rice burner huh? Because I painted the headlights? IMO a rice burner is the car with the 8" spoiler, stick on vent for the hood, and lowered with the stock rims.

JWinn...I've heard of the show but never seen it. I like to have the DIY instructions right in front of me though every step of the way...don't want to miss any details due to my lack of short term memory
