Man I remember those days.... I used to go when I was in the Air Force. I was up in Canada for an exercise one time and a bunch of us AF guys were there, all from 20-35 years old. We had 3 teams and just kept rotating around and playing full court. Suddenly these teen age kids (around 17-18) show up and wanted to play with us. The must have been on the local HS team because they all thought they were pretty badass and were full of themselves, all dressed in their expensive bball out fits.

Now keep in mind that I'm not very agile, but play pretty damn hard. "They called me 'hammer' when I was in HS because if I fouled you, there wasn't any questions about it. Anyway, I end up covering this kid who could really handle the ball and was faster than I was.... lucky for me he couldn't shoot from outside and he thought he was a guard.

I kept playing way off of him because he was much faster, and he kept bombing 3s and brickin 'em

At one point one of my teammates goes, "get up on him, we got your back" and I said, it's okay, let him shoot, he can't make anything from there.

Of course this pissed the kid off and he just had to prove me wrong..... he kept shooting and bricking.

Anyway that started a load of smack talk. About 5 mins later (the HSer's were getting their asses handed to them, partly because this kid kept shooting from outside) he sucker punches me during a scramble for a loose ball.

Everyone broke us up before I could retaliate, but I overheard one of my buddies say, "Look son, you're palying with men here, not your little HS buddies, so you just better watch it!"

That's good stuff.

I might have to start calling you the HAMMER!!!!!

I had more than one buddy end up bruised and skinned. One even ended up with a bloody nose!! (although it was kind of his own fault!)

We almost got into a fight over that one!!!
